Eddie Redmayne is Floating Right Above You in The Trailer For 'The Aeronauts'
Do you ever worry that Eddie Redmayne is right behind you? Do you find yourself paralyzed by the possibility that somewhere, creeping in the shadows, is Academy Award-winning actor and bafflingly popular thespian Eddie Redmayne? What if he’s there and you just can’t see it but nor can you shake the smothering feeling that he’ll always be with you? These are questions that plague the Pajiba team ceaselessly, as Petr famously described way back in 2017. We’ve tried to warn people, but those efforts have been in vain. Now, it has escalated, for Eddie Redmayne is in the air, watching us from above… waiting… He floats, and soon we will all float…
So yeah, here’s the trailer for The Aeronauts.
This historical drama, directed by Tom Harper of Peaky Blinders fame, tells the true story of scientist James Glaisher and pilot Amelia Wren (played by Felicity Jones) and their intrepid balloon journey. It’s all very exciting stuff, very much your granny’s new favorite film. Plummy as f*ck. But, of course, Redmayne remains. And frankly, he didn’t need aesthetic additions to continue his career as Pajiba’s nemesis. There he is with another true story struggle misery white people movie designed to appeal to the most middle-placed of brows, and there’s Oscar season around the corner waiting to embrace him. He will fly down on his balloon and snatch up awards gold while we all lie in fear. If you thought Pennywise made balloons terrifying then prepare for the worst.
The Aeronauts will make its world premiere at TIFF next month.
