Damaged Hollywood Star Jonah Hill Will Write and Direct a Movie About a Damaged Hollywood Star

Jonah Hill, who an ex-girlfriend accused of being emotionally abusive last summer, is set to write, direct, and star in a movie about a Hollywood star “who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past.” It sounds like Hill has some experience with this premise, only instead of a video clip, his ex, Sarah Brady, had unflattering text messages.

Hill will co-write Outcome with Ezra Woods. It is set up over at Apple Studios. It will star Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz, who appears to have ended her retirement. Keanu will play the damaged Hollywood star, whose name is Reef, which sounds like a surfer name. I’m sure that is completely unrelated to the fact that Jonah Hill’s ex was a professional surfer.

Hill’s last feature was You People, which he wrote with Kenya Barris while starring alongside Eddie Murphy. Hill is still reportedly attached to play Jerry Garcia in a Grateful Dead biopic that Martin Scorsese will direct. Reeves, in between John Wick installments, is currently shooting a film written and directed by Aziz Ansari that he’ll star in with Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer. Diaz shot Back in Action, her first film in years in 2022. She co-starred with Jamie Foxx. The film has not yet been released.
