Two weeks ago, on this very post, we embedded the trailer for what would become the most-watched trailer ever for an original streaming movie. That trailer is for The Idea of You, about a 40-year-old single mom who falls for a 24-year-old musician with the ridiculous name of August Moon (Nicholas Galitzine). The movie itself is based on the popular novel from Robinne Lee. It is Harry Styles fan fiction, although it is also about older women reclaiming their lives sexually.
It’s a very horny book and, based on early reviews out of SXSW, a delightfully horny movie. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film also looks sweet, even if it is jarring to hear Hathaway say, “I’m too old for you.” How is it possible for Hathaway to be too old for anyone of an adult age?
The film will premiere on Prime Video on May 2nd.
