This one’s a bit of a head-scratcher for me.
The Wrap is reporting Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to join Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) in DC’s upcoming Wonder Woman. Though her role is unconfirmed, Kidman’s role is said to be a “a high-ranking Amazonian warrior alongside Gal Gadot,” quite possibly Hyppolyta aka Queen of the Amazons, and Diana Prince’s mother.
HUH?
Maybe it’s me, but regardless of her acting credentials, there is nothing (okay, she is tall) about Kidman that reads “Amazonian queen.” How about Famke Janssen, Monica Bellucci or Catherine Zeta Jones? How about anyone who’s not ghostly white? And not for nothing, but if I’m really being honest, this just seems like a missed opportunity:
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins, and scheduled for release June 23, 2017.
