I will never tire of anecdotes about how celebrities treat service workers. I like them because they offer a glimpse into a celebrity’s personality when the cameras aren’t on. It’s not just how nice or rude they are. It’s the size of the tip. A server who waits on a celebrity will talk about the size of that tip for the rest of their lives. It will be a conversation at every party the server ever attends. The size of the tip will show up one day on Reddit. I don’t care how beloved a celebrity is; if I hear they are a bad tipper, it will always be a mark against them.

We don’t know what kind of tip Zachary Quinto might have left at the Toronto restaurant, Manita. Quinto didn’t get a table, and how he reacted to not getting a table means that he will never get a table at the restaurant again. According to the Instagram account of Manita, Quinto is a real dick.

“Yelled at our staff like an entitled child … after he didn’t reply to two texts to inform him his table was ready and refused to believe the empty tables in the dining room weren’t available for him despite being politely informed they were spoken for,” the message read. “Made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners uncomfortable.”

The post concluded, “Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else. We have many lovely celebrities join us at Manita, but you are NOT one of them.”

No one should ever make the host of a restaurant cry, but also: Zachary Quinto is not famous enough to be that entitled. He’s the kind of celebrity who might yell, “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” and the host would reply, “No clue. Are you famous or something?”

“Spock? Star Trek?”
“I thought that was Leonard Nimoy. He was a nice man.”
“I was in the reboot. What about American Horror Story?”
“Is that show still on?”
Heroes?”
“Before my time.”
“OK. Can you get your manager, please? “
“Sure.”
“Wait! Come back! Before I DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM her, can you ask her if she’s seen the Chris Pine Star Trek movies?”
