Tom Holland Confirms It: He and Zendaya Are Married!

For those who wanted to hear it from the spider’s mouth: Tom Holland and Zendaya are 100% married! The pair have been the subject of wedding chat for a while. Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, confirmed that the big day had already happened when asked about it on the red carpet, but many wondered if he was telling a joke or making sh*t up to distract from the real event. Zendaya slyly avoided questions from Jimmy Kimmel and made jokes about some fans’ creepy AI-generated pictures of their imagined wedding. Now, with the pair back on the red carpet together to promote a new Spider-Man movie, Holland is letting us know that, yes, they’re not husband and wife, but no, he’s not going to go into any details.

In an interview with Esquire, Holland was asked about those uncanny AI pics. Holland said that his grandmother saw them and thought she hadn’t been invited. Did he have to send out any similar messages to friends and family, they asked? “No, because they were all there.” So, how was the wedding? “That’s all you’ll get on that,” Holland said. But he did say that his relationship with Zee was special because “I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her.” Aww!

I’ve talked before about how Zendaya is extremely good at being famous. She knows how the play the game, to give audiences just enough without spilling her guts or turning her private life into a cycle of content. Holland has clearly learned from the best, and together, they’ve been incredibly smart in keeping their romance out of the headlines. They are both extremely famous people, which would usually make being together in the spotlight tough enough, but the fact that they’re also Peter Parker and MJ? Truly, I’m stunned that they’re able to have some peace.

If these films came out two decades ago, they’d be forced to do so many sexy cover shoots together and milk that IRL love for all its worth. And yet they’ve navigated this snake-pit with seeming ease. They talk lovingly of one another in interviews and do some red carpet stuff together but you really don’t see them in the papers when there isn’t something professional to deal with. It’s a testament to the thoroughness of their teams and their loved ones’ abilities to keep their mouths shut that the date and location of the wedding wasn’t leaked to the press. It could have ended up like Madonna and Sean Penn’s wedding, with helicopters disrupting the ceremony and paparazzi hiding in the bushes in camouflage gear. Instead, Tomdaya are in control. So, congrats, guys! I hope your honeymoon was awesome and we never hear anything about it, unless you want us to.
