Tom Cruise's Mother Is...Missing; Is She Perhaps with Shelly Miscavige?

And if so, WHERE ARE THEY?

People, this is not a drill. At a minimum, we’re at the Scientology-related alert level equivalent to DEFCON 3.

For those of you who may be a step behind right now — and I doubt there are many because we here at P-town been over the Scientology thing many times — I’ll back up a minute.

Shelly aka Michele Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader, David Miscavige, has kinda-sorta been missing since 2007. I say “kinda-sorta” because although she’s not been seen publicly, Los Angeles police have officially closed her missing persons report (filed by former Scientologist,Leah Remini) twice, with detectives claiming to have seen Shelly in person. According to Scientology blogger, author and Raw Story editor, Tony Ortega, Shelly may be holed up at some secret Scientology location, after allegedly having pissed off her husband. I’m guessing you guys already know most of this, because people have occasionally mentioned concern for Shelly in the comments other Scientology-related posts we’ve done. And well, maybe now she’s not feeling so alone? Because word has sneaked out from behind the Cruise/Scientolo-Camps that Tom’s mother Mary may also be missing — she’s not been seen in public since April; up until that point, Mary had been residing in an assisted living community, but her apartment has been empty , at least since Mary was last seen at a Scientology Easter Brunch (which makes no sense at all. Do Scientologists celebrate Easter?).

Esquire mentions that one of the original source articles had alluded to a possible connection between those July rumors that Cruise might finally decide to leave the organization and Mary apparently going missing, which is an interesting — and possibly lawsuit-worthy — observation, which is probably why the source article removed it.

Of course this could all be nothing but nonsense — just because some unnamed people haven’t seen Mary, doesn’t mean anything nefarious has happened. She could be ill, she could be in a hospital somewhere, and none of that is anything Cruise is required to make a public statement about. But as we all know, after everything we’ve heard and read, even the possibility of a Scientology-related disappearance is going to put the world on high alert.

If you happen to spot Mary Lee South out and about, please report the sighting to the non-Scientologist authorities…

if you can find them.

May the force be with you, Mary.
