Everybody has one of those nights when tensions are running a little too high and something innocuous prompts the kind of emotional outburst that takes any listeners by surprise. If you’re lucky, this happens in private. If you’re not, then you’re Chad L. Coleman, who went on a rant last night on a Brooklyn bound 4 train about looking for humanitarians and getting people to care.
According to the Daily News, this was prompted by overhearing two people trying to figure out if they knew him, and had to do with his frustrations over what’s been happening in Baltimore. Since Coleman was also on The Wire which was filmed in the city and involved a lot of locals in the production, I’m not surprised that he was deeply affected by what’s happening there now. Once you get past the first two minutes where he’s shouting, he seems more like someone who’s just sad and disappointed in people in general, and I’m sure most of us can sympathize with those feelings.
