The 'Mean Girls' Digital Release Cuts The 'Fire Crotch' Joke That Hurt Lindsay Lohan

It’s May 2006. 19-year-old Lindsay Lohan has recently been spotted hanging out with Paris Hilton’s ex, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos. Obviously, this ticks Paris off. But she’s not about to badmouth Lindsay to the press. No, no, no, she’ll leave that to her scumbag sidekick, oil heir Brandon Davis.

TMZ catches up with 25-year-old Paris and Brandon outside Hyde Nightclub on Sunset Boulevard. As Paris doubles over laughing, Brandon repeatedly calls Lindsay a “fire crotch”, a “whore”, says her freckles are “worse than AIDS”, makes repulsive comments about her vagina, and goes on about how her movie bombed, she lives in a hotel, and she’s “poor” because she’s only worth $7 million. Brandon’s monologue is disgusting and a perfect encapsulation of just how acceptable it was to publicly tear down women in the 2000s.

Unfortunately, the TMZ video became an infamous pop culture moment, and the term “fire crotch” (slang for red pubic hair) was forever linked to Lindsay Lohan. Cut to last month, when the Mean Girls musical reboot hit theaters. 37-year-old Lindsay, the original Cady Heron, makes a cameo as the moderator of the Mathletes tournament. Earlier in the film, Megan Thee Stallion also makes an appearance, right after Regina George (Reneé Rapp) has an embarrassing moment at the Christmas talent show. Megan is one of the social media commentators who show their support for Cady (Angourie Rice) on TikTok. One of her lines is, “Y2K fire crotch is back.” Huh.

After the film’s release, Lindsay Lohan’s rep told Us Weekly that the actress was “very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.” Fair. Lindsay’s in the movie, why would Tina Fey include a dig against her? Even if she didn’t mean for it to be a dig, it wasn’t particularly respectful.

Earlier this week, Mean Girls was released digitally, and fans noticed that the “fire crotch” line was gone. Now, Megan’s cameo ends with “We are going back red!” Looks like Tina and Team Mean Girls took Lindsay’s concerns to heart:

Back to the original “fire crotch” pap video. That, plus all the times she was racist and homophobic, is one of the many reasons I will never support Paris Hilton’s “comeback”. So she had a couple kids and doesn’t put on a high-pitched baby voice anymore? Big whoop. She’s still a shit person.
