There’s a lot going on with Taryn Manning’s social media feeds of late. For instance, in an Insta Story yesterday, it appears that Manning is expressing support for the Proud Boys, who she says are not racist and, in fact, were only protecting “patriots” (including a Black conservative) from ANTIFA on January 6th. That’s the level of bonkers we’re dealing with here, a few weeks after Manning also confessed to licking the behind of a married man with whom she was having an affair.

Now Manning is defending her “friend,” Danny Masterson and even Danny Masterson would probably say, “Please don’t.”

“And the fact that people wanna just tear us all down, like even with my friend Danny going to prison for 30 years,” Manning said. “Yeah, he made a mistake, but everyone just keeps going, keep crucifying him, as if he’s not already suffering.”

He was charged with three “mistakes” and convicted of two. “Suffering” is kind of the point, although I would characterize it as “consequences.”

Manning, by the way, has one million followers.

An interesting twist is, in the same deleted Insta Story, Manning also complained that producers on Orange Is the New Black were “abusive” to her because her character was raped in the series.

“No one ever told me that, when I had to hit the press, the amount of the wall I’d be up against. ‘So what was it like to be raped on the show?’ The most divisive, pervasive topic on the planet, and I had to stand up and be the spokesperson for rape. That’s abusive to me.”

“Nobody ever told me what I would be up against. You just dropped that on me in that season, you just dropped it on me. ‘Oh, she’s just going to get raped, you’re just going to have to deal with it in the press.’ How abusive that was.”

So, Danny Masterson made a “mistake” when he raped multiple women, but the real abusers here are the writers who subjected an actress to a pretend rape on a television series?

“Don’t come at me, that I’m the problem. I’m sitting here having compassion for someone that’s going to jail for the rest of your lives, and you’re still not satisfied, because you’re haters and your demons.”

It should be noted that one of the victims of Danny Masterson’s “mistake” thinks that his 30-year-sentence “seems like justice to me.”

Meanwhile, Chynna Phillips — the Wilson Phillips singer who is also the sister of Danny Masterson’s wife, Bijou Phillips — is not only asking her followers to pray but to “force” a prayer. That is some third-rail irony.

At least Christina Ricci has the right perspective.

“So sometimes people we have loved and admired do horrible things. They might not do these things to us, and we only know who they were to us, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t do the horrible things, and to discredit the abused is a crime. People we know as ‘awesome guys’ can be predators and abusers. It’s tough to accept, but we have to. If we say we support victims — women, children, men, boys - then we must be able to take this stance.”

Be like Ricci.
