Surprise plane friends can make for both the best and worst of travel experiences, as so awesomely demonstrated by John Candy in my favorite all-time movie, Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

We all know those people — the ones who won’t stop talking, who climb over seats, or start unwrapping the nastiest, stinkiest, most inedible thing to eat the minute you reach 1,000 feet. But, did you know Sir Patrick Mothereffin™ Stewart was one of them? I shit you not:



Not for nothing, but I could never find Patrick Stewart annoying. Now where is Ian McKellen, dammit? He’d have made a great snarky steward.
