Shannon Beador Breaks Her Silence After DUI Arrest

Shannon Storms Beador has finally broken her silence following her recent DUI arrest.

If you saw the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion episodes, then you saw the multiple warnings about substance abuse and acknowledgments that the reunion was filmed before Shannon’s arrest. You then saw Shannon’s cast mates accuse her of drunk dialing them to trauma dump about her then-boyfriend Jon Janssen. Shannon predictably denied these allegations and brushed away any claims that she was unwell. Personally, it left me feeling that when she did address the accident, she would take a similar tact.

Her statement confirmed my suspicions. “There’s been a lot of talk about everything that’s happened recently,” she said. This is code for “Once again everyone is gossiping about me for no good reason.” She goes on, “Unfortunately right now I’m not in a position to comment, but there will be a time when I can.” In other words, her lawyers told her to keep quiet. She crashed her car into someone’s house, so, there’s some sort of litigation going on. I don’t know what the “time” she can comment will be or what has to happen for that to occur, but the point is, it’s evasive.

“I intend to be open, honest, and authentic,” she says, three empty words that mean nothing in a decidedly crafted, inauthentic video. Her tone of voice doesn’t even change. This could have been a text post, but some PR person told her to record herself walking the dog so she looked healthy and normal. This is not a statement of guilt or remorse as much as a proof of life. “Look at me!” She seems to be screaming. “I’m out and about, walking the dog!” The very same dog who was in the car when she crashed it, whom she pretended to be walking after she zoomed away and pulled over.

We have watched Shannon destroy her life with alcohol for many seasons now. This is no different. Nothing’s gonna change until something does.
