It’s not uncommon to see big-name celebrities walking the runway during Fashion Week. A ton of your favourite actors and singers have highly lucrative contracts with these brands and they want to get as much value for money as possible. Willem Dafoe and Gary Oldman walked for Prada. Nicole Kidman did it for Balenciaga. Gwendoline Christie, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, even John Turturro! And now joining their ranks is Olivia Colman.
The multi-award-winning star of The Favourite and Peep Show, next to be seen in Elsinore, was one of several celeb cameos at the Spring/Summer 2027 Miu Miu show. She made her debut in a subdued black leather pencil skirt and matching jacket, with sensible loafers. Her gorgeous long grey hair was in a practical ponytail.

Reader, I love everything about this: the curls, the comfy shoes, the smirk of “No, I can’t believe I’m doing this either”, and the stompy walk of a woman who has places to be. Colman is a woman in her 50s who has stuff to do, and you should get out of her way. Also, I appreciate just how, for lack of a better term, normal she seems. She’s still so damn beautiful but she also looks put together and practical in a way that sells me the outfit more effectively than had it been put on a 19-year-old size zero model. I know who this outfit is for, how it should be worn, and what it would look like on the intended customer. Honestly, I need more fashion marketing like this.
Joining Colman on the Miu Miu runway were Emma Corrin and an apparently deeply beleaguered Jamie Bell.
