New Lawsuit Alleges New York Knicks Owner Trafficked Woman to Harvey Weinstein

James Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks, is being sued by a woman who has accused him of setting her up to be sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein.

A lawsuit filed in California this week describes instances of sex trafficking and a “vicious” assault at the hands of the convicted rapist. According to the Guardian, the lawsuit was filed by Kellye Croft, a former massage therapist for the Knicks. The alleged abuse occurred when Dolan, who is also the CEO of Madison Square Garden Entertainment, was on tour with his band, JD & The Straight Shot (this band is described as a vanity project for Dolan in the first line of its Wikipedia page.)

Croft had been hired by Dolan in 2013 to be the group’s official masseuse. Dolan, the lawsuit claims, ‘summoned’ Croft to his hotel room and pressured her into unwanted sex. This later led to, she alleges, being trafficked out to Weinstein. Dolan was briefly on the board of The Weinstein Company, which produced a variety of films where Dolan’s band’s music was featured. Weinstein was also a corporate business partner of Dolan’s Madison Square Garden Company.

The lawsuit also claims that Dolan’s music referred to his relationship with Weinstein. One 2018 song, ‘I Should’ve Known’, includes the lyrics, ‘I should’ve known, I should’ve thrown myself across his tracks, stopped him from these vile attacks.’ Dolan was named in a class-action lawsuit filed against Weinstein by six women in 2017, claiming he ‘knew of Weinstein’s pattern and practice of predatory sexual conduct toward women.’ Dolan denies the allegations.

Harvey Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual assault. He received an additional 16 years after being found guilty of three counts of rape and sexual assault in February 2023. He will die in prison.
