Zendaya’s personal Image Architect and retired celebrity styling assistant, Law Roach, came out of retirement for one night and “one nite only” to dress Celine Dion for her surprise appearance at the Grammys.

Dion’s presence was a happy surprise given her recent battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, and she was given a standing ovation. Roach said that being a part of it was “very emotional.”

“When I got the call that she was doing this, you know, she wanted to show the world because everything [in the media] was [saying] that she was so ill and she was bedridden, she was in a wheelchair. And me being able to play a small part in her showing the world that she’s happy and she’s healthy and she’s alive, and she’s ready to be back onstage…it was amazing.”

He’s since styled her for a magazine shoot and expressed his affection for her on social media:

Roach’s latest venture is a new reality competition show OMG Fashun on E!, which he hosts with Julia Fox. Described as challenging “up-and-coming designers to use the model as the muse for her next best, unconventional look,” it sounds right up his alley. Roach called his co-star “the coolest, down-to-earth [person].”

“She doesn’t take herself seriously, which I love because I don’t take myself seriously either, and she just sets the tone and atmosphere of the set. She gave me the opportunity to just be authentic and crazy and kooky, and we had a lot of fun.” He added that they’re looking for a budding designer whose work is “sustainable and helping to ease the burden that fashion is placing on our world.”

OMG Fashun airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on E!
