When we lost Joan Rivers, everyone knew Kathy Griffin was the ultimate heir to her Fashion Police throne. And she was…briefly. In the wake of the Zendaya comments made by co-host and racist moron Giuliana Rancic, Griffin decided this was not the job she was looking for. So she’s out.
Take it, Kathleen:

Fellow celebs have already voiced support, including similar ship-jumper Kelly Osbourne:
I could not be more proud of you @kathygriffin you have my love and support always! pic.twitter.com/0P4yWecUA2

And Lena Dunham, who said a nice thing but I do NOT want those comments coming through so you can just click on it. Ugh, fuck everyone on her social media sites.
Ironically, one person who did feel comfortable commenting on people’s bodies and other offensive things was Joan Rivers, who really got a pass based on two things: 1) she was Joan Rivers, and 2) she was old. To have two people in a short amount of time reject the notion that women should be cannon fodder is pretty great. The line between criticizing fashion and criticizing the person in the outfit is a fine one and I don’t have a ton of faith that the braintrust at E! is capable of leading the charge. But this exodus might be a good start.
