Stop Being a Weirdo to Hudson Williams's Girlfriend

Hudson Williams has been famous for less than ten months. Heated Rivalry sent him into the high echelons of celebrity at record speed, and now he and co-star Connor Storrie have to deal with a veritable ton of jackassery. People can not be normal about this pair and it is weird. It’s proven to be tough for Hudson’s girlfriend, the tattoo artist Katelyn Larson. On top of all the usual harassment and tinhat conspiracies that typically follow around the partner of an internet boyfriend, she’s had her place of work taken over by the fans. It’s gotten so bad that she took to Instagram Stories this week to call it out.

“Obviously a lot of you have found the studio because of a certain show and that’s more than okay! if you’re following me or any of the other artists because you genuinely like their art and want to get some cool tattoos please go right ahead don’t ever feel weird about that. this is where i draw a very hard line: booking an appointment with me or anyone else ppurely because of the connection to the show crosses a huge boundary. showing up to your appointment and asking my coworkers any sort of questions about myself or about hudson is hugely uncomfortable for everyone. with peace and love, please stop.”

Williams and Larson have been together for a while, and the intensity of certain subsets of the Heated Rivalry fandom has put a lot of needless pressure on her shoulders. She’s been pretty horribly treated by the losers who think she’s somehow ruining Hudson’s life or is only with him for the fame. She’s been accused of keeping him in the closet and away from his real life—ah, the Larry special—but he’s also been accused of queerbaiting so they need to sort out which story they prefer. I really don’t understand this behaviour, and I certainly don’t get the mindset of people who think intruding on a total stranger’s place of work because their boyfriend is in a TV show I like. What do you want to get from that interaction? Do you think Katelyn wants to be your friend, or that you’re going to “uncover” some nefarious secret? You know that this is just stalking, right? And Hudson 100% thinks you’re a gross, friendless creep?

None of this is new, of course. Do you know how many times over the past decade or so I’ve written about a guy getting famous and a section of his fans deciding they must ruin his spouse’s life because she spoils their fantasy? FKA Twigs, Zawe Ashton, Meghan Markle, Sophie Hunter, Taylor Russell, Alba Baptista, and now Katelyn Larson. At least she’s in good company, but I shudder to think how much darker things could get for her. These creeps haven’t gone for a fake baby conspiracy yet.
