Jessica Biel Is An Anti-Vaxxer, But Doesn't Want You To Know That
Jessica Biel’s taken a break from making movies you’ve never heard of to do some advocacy. And her issue of choice is making sure herd immunity fails.
Jezebel broke the story that Biel was spotted Tuesday at the California State Assembly, where she posed for pictures alongside known anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an attorney who has been declaring vaccines as dangerous while lobbying against them. To that end, Kennedy was in there to lobby against SB276, a bill that aims to narrow the exemptions that would allow parents to avoid vaccinating their children. And it would seem Biel was there to bring a bit of star power to his cause.
Here’s the photo Kennedy shared on Instragram:
Biel has never spoken publicly about her thoughts on the vaccination issue, and her reps have not responded to Jezebel’s requests for comment. However, in 2015 In Touch reported that a source close to Biel and her husband Justin Timberlake claimed that the couple was choosing not to vaccinate their infant son because “[Jessica] feels that vaccination could cause complications.”
This echoes a statement Kennedy made about Biel to The Daily Beast: “I would say that she was for safe vaccines and for medical freedom.” And that falls in line with this tweet from Assemblyman Tom Lackey:
California State Senator Brian W. Jones also got a pic with Biel, and while sharing it on Twitter confirmed her opposition to the vaccination bill.
Biel hasn’t posted about her anti-vaxxing advocacy on her social media accounts. Instead, she’s promoting her upcoming series, Limetown, adapted from the popular narrative podcast.
So, Jessica Biel has joined the ranks of celebrity anti-vaxxers. But she’d prefer you focus on her new show and not that she’s promoting a dangerous agenda that’s causing measles outbreaks through the spread of misinformation and manipulations that twist public health into a personal rights issue. As to personal rights, it’s not the child making the choice that could impact his health. Just ask teen activist Ethan Lindenberger. Beyond that, it’s not just her child who is at risk if Biel and Timberlake choose not to vaccinate him, it’s all the kids who come in contact with his allegedly unvaccinated self. Or all those who might come in contact with this allegedly unvaccinated child’s very famous parents, who travel, socialize, lobby, shake hands and potentially pass on germs to countless people.
But hey, Limetown’s coming soon.
