No, we didn’t steal this from Jennifer Lawrence’s phone, but hey, that’s a whole lotta JLAW in this Vanity Fair photo by Patrick Demarchelier. The photographer sought to create an homage to Richard Avedon’s 1981 shot of Nastassja Kinski:
I’d say Demarchelier did a damned fine job:
VF describes Lawrence as “brave and nonchalant” during the shoot until “…the snake took a fancy to her neck. Then the shoot was over and Mr. Boa went back into his box.” (And then they shipped it on a plane, and you know the rest, Mr. Jackson.)
Meanwhile, over on Bazaar, Rihanna is also posing with a dangerous animal, although she has considerably more clothes on, which is to say: She’s wearing them.
