Jared Leto Faces Allegations of Sexual Misconduct From Nine Women

Jared Leto faces accusations of inappropriate behaviour and sexual misconduct from nine separate women. An investigation by AirMail detailed what has been described as ‘an open secret’ for many years.

The exposé paints a picture of an alleged predator with a focus on much younger girls and women, often teenagers, whose ages he was acutely aware of. Said one woman, Leto would call her repeatedly, ‘Always at one, two, three a.m. The conversations turned sexual. He’d ask things like, ‘Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a d*ck?”

Model Laura La Rue, one of the few named women in the piece, alleged a similar encounter with Leto in 2008 when she was only 16. She said that Leto asked for her number at an animal rights benefit after discovering her age (he was 36 at the time), and that during one visit to his music studio when she was 17, he ‘walked out of a room completely naked.’

Another woman alleges that, when she was 18 and made a visit to Leto’s home, he ‘suddenly pulled his penis out and started masturbating. Then he walked over, grabbed my hand, and put it on him. He leaned in and said, ‘I want you to spit on it.”

This report comes after one woman, DJ Allie Tielz, took to social media to share an old Facebook status from her own account where she described an encounter with Leto. She wrote, ‘Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt… and a snow hat.’ Tielz said that she was ‘assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17’ and that Leto ‘was a creep then… still a creep now.’

Whispers and jokes about Leto’s reported preference for much younger women have been all over the internet for years. As the AirMail piece notes, a tweet from actor Dylan Sprouse went viral in 2018 wherein he asked Leto, ‘Now that you’ve slid into the DMs of every female model aged 18-25, what would you say your success rate is?’ To this, director James Gunn replied, ‘He starts at 18 on the internet?’ Gunn later deleted this tweet and blamed it on Ambien.

Leto’s spokesperson denied all of these claims.
