If you haven’t seen Hustlers, you need to. It’s very good.
If you have seen Hustlers, you’re probably suspecting it’s based on a true story, which you are one hundred percent correct on—the movie’s source material is an excellent article that was published at the end of 2015 by The Cut, called “The Hustlers at Scores.” You can read it in its entirety, here.
You may be wondering what the real Ramona, Destiny/Dorothy, Mercedes, and Annabelle look like, and we have you covered as the original article uses everyone’s real names, as opposed to Hollywood aliases, like in the movie. Scroll below for a look at the real-life women of Hustlers.
First up: Jennifer Lopez as Ramona Vega (Samantha Barbash)
(I know you know what J.Lo looks like, but she looks SO GOOD in this movie I will use any excuse to post more images.)
(I told you.)
While Samantha Barbash and J.Lo don’t look a lot alike, it seems Jennifer Lopez most definitely nailed Barbash’s hustle, as exemplified in her Instagram below.
Constance Wu as Dorothy/Destiny (Roselyn Keo)
The real-life Destiny wrote a book called “The Sophisticated Hustler: When the Alpha Female takes on Wall Street.” You can read an excerpt, here.
Here’s Roselyn with Jennifer Lopez, because again, I cannot get enough of Jennifer Lopez and her Hustlers’ energy:
Keke Palmer as Mercedes (Marsi Rosen)
Marsi is staying out of the spotlight, so no pictures will be provided. Instead, here is a video of Jennifer Lopez learning to strip, because I don’t want you to walk away empty-handed.
Lili Reinhart as Annabelle (Karina Pascucci)
Ah, we should have known when Betty Cooper did that weird strip-lite number in season 2 of Riverdale that it would eventually come to this, but I digress.
Annabelle is based on Karina Pascucci, who seems to be embracing her Hustlers fame.
Julia Stiles as Jennifer (Jessica Pressler)
Julia Stiles plays Jennifer, who in real-life is journalist Jessica Pressler (who wrote the initial article, linked above and who also just wrote a highly entertaining article at The Cut about a pre-school in Brooklyn that I cannot recommend enough.)
