HBO Invites You To a Rocking Saturday

It’s a bit of a slow news weekend. Everyone’s either holding their breath for the Oscars tomorrow, or covering the political situation, which is something I do my best not to think about in my leisure time. But how to fill that leisure time? HBO has a suggestion:

That’s right, turn on HBO at any time today and you will see the Rock. Or someone else from one of the shows or movies he’s in before he shows up again. Are these shows and movies generally and specifically terrible? Yes. (Though I’m pretty sure Ballers is the perfect replacement for Downton Abbey as far as rich people in low stakes conflicts goes, but that’s a piece for a different day.) But is Dwayne the Rock Johnson a physical manifestation of the concept of charisma and a delight to see no matter what the context? Yes. So as I go about my normal Saturday chores and activities, I know what I’ll have on as background noise.
