Eric Andre Claims Chet Hanks Is 'Dangerous' and 'Emotionally Disturbed'

Eric Andre spoke to Rolling Stone at the SXSW Festival this week where he revealed, among other things, that he does whippets to treat his anxiety, because weed makes him paranoid. Nitrous oxide, he says, is the safest drug to treat it.

Meanwhile, Andre — in Austin to promote the sixth season of The Eric André Show — also spoke about some of the guests who would be featured in the forthcoming season. Lil Nas, he says, was an ideal guest because “he’s very sensitive, so he was easily affected by every prank.”

Chet Hanks, on the other hand, “was a tough cookie. He broke our crew. It felt like Rust,” Andre said, referring to the movie set where Alec Baldwin shot and killed the cinematographer. “He broke us down.”

He is … emotionally disturbed. He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders. It was very dangerous. He tried to prank us back, but we edited out all his bullshit! He’s not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?

Andre also had an opportunity to talk to Ziwe, who said that Hanks was trying to sleep with her. “God, what a guy.”

Meanwhile, Andre also said that on the first shoot of the season, the New Jersey cops nearly killed him. He had worked with the police ahead of time on the prank — where Andre abuses a fake cop who looks like a real cop — but “this department was so unorganized and corrupt” that they didn’t communicate and “I almost got shot.”
