Three years ago, we declared Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon marriage goals because of how this deeply and delightfully nerdy couple worked and played together, sharing their common passions, making passion projects and profit! And that was all before they spun their own real-life romance into the acclaimed rom-com The Big Sick, which scored them both an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

It also gave this cool celebrity couple plenty of opportunities to wow on red carpets during award season, and scored them a coveted gig as guest judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race. But that’s not all! Nanjiani has gone on to check several more major items off any nerd’s wildest dreams list, including a role in Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone relaunch AND becoming an honest-to-godtopus superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s The Eternals.

With this super new role comes a muscle-y makeover, admired not only by us but also by Nanjiani’s partner and number one fan.

In short, Nanjiani and Gordon are still totally adorable, totally crushable, and a totally kicking-ass couple.
