“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” - Fred Rogers

It’s obscenely obvious that the President of this country is not a helper, hiding in a bunker within the White House while finally building his wall — around the People’s White House to keep Americans out. Meanwhile, some celebrities are giving money to worthwhile organizations, speaking out even when their “fans” give them sh*t or they fear losing their career, and providing talking points for parents and their kids.

Enter forever (I HOPE) good dude Dwayne Johnson.

Our country is crippled and on its knees, begging to be heard and pleading for change. Where is our compassionate leader? The leader who unifies and inspires our country at our most painful time when we need it the most. The leader who steps up and takes full accountability for our country and embraces every color in it. The leader who picks our country up off its knees and says you have my word - we got this - and together, change will happen. Where are you? Because we’re all here. Maybe one day that galvanizing leader will emerge. Either way, the process to change has already begun. #normalizeequality #blacklivesmatter

Johnson is loved by everyone so I can only hope that his emotional, eloquent, and much-needed call to action is a wake-up call for those steadfastly sticking to their support of a President so uninterested in healing or uniting this country. I want to believe that this a something that will break through to people. I have to believe.

On a less serious note, maybe there’s something to future President Dwayne Johnson
