Yowch.
Looks like last night’s Grammy awards were full of feelings. People were positively thrilled by the Hamilton number, and Kendrick Lamar’s explosive, stage-owning performance. As for Lady Gaga’s medley in tribute to David Bowie, the crowd seemed fairly split between fans of both artists. If you missed it, here’s the whole effects heavy (which may be part of the issue; it probably didn’t help that her collaboration with Intel was highlighted) shebang.
As fabulous as her performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl was, I’m not really a fan of this particular tribute. And for a grieving son, maybe it was simply too soon to see someone not only singing his father’s songs, but doing her best to transform into him onstage, even if metamorphosis is her thing. Duncan Jones took a sly sideswipe, without being overtly nasty.

Still, Jones had to know the world was watching him; was it really necessary to publicly take her down?
Whatever the reactions, Gaga is clearly a huge Bowie fan; her heart was all in.

I’m suffering mixed emotions here, torn between understanding Jones’ feelings, and thinking some things are better left unsaid. What do you all think?
