Almost everything I know about Lily Allen and David Harbour’s marriage I learned from reading posts from other contributors here, especially Kayleigh’s lengthy piece on Allen’s album West End Girl. Allen has apparently always been messy, Harbour has always been an a-hole, and together they made for a particularly potent disaster.

Allen’s album tracks the fallout with Harbour in brutal, unsparing detail and even includes, among the lyrics, text messages from Harbour’s mistress. I’m not sure why she’s coming forward now, perhaps because of Allen’s intense SNL performance over the weekend, but Harbour’s alleged mistress, Natalie Tippett, is speaking out on Instagram. She does not appreciate her text messages being used without her permission and would like to be removed from the narrative.

“I was hoping not to speak on this, but I am tired of this false narrative being pushed and circulated,” she posted on Instagram, noting that the affair was not three years long and was only “a marginal part of my life,” but that it has now turned into a major disruption, including harassment and incidents at her home.

“I’m unsure why this person wants so badly to pit people against me or create this narrative that we both know is false based on the actual messages that I have saved between us,” she continued. “The same ones that have now been referenced in a song without my consent.” She added, “I don’t weaponize women against women for the behavior of men, especially not in an open relationship. I’m wishing her all the success, money, healing, and happiness, and whatever else she’s seeking through this.”

She concludes by saying that she is a single mother with struggles of her own and asks to stop receiving hateful messages. “Please remember before you send more hate my way, I’m a human being, not a character someone created,” Tippett wrote. She allegedly met Harbour while working in the costume department of the Netflix film We Have a Ghost in 2021.
