Chris Pratt Is a Fierce Advocate of Equal-Opportunity Objectification

Thank you, Chris Pratt. I’m glad that the Jurassic World star came out and advocated for what we have been advocating here for years at Pajiba (especially around Pajiba 10 time): Equal opportunity objectification! We’re not saying that you shouldn’t drool and pant over celebrities, we’re simply saying that we — as a Internet entity — encourage you to drool and pant over celebrities of both sexes, and we do our very best to ensure that insanely hot women and men are provided in equal measure for your bunkworthy pleasure.

Chris Pratt agrees, saying that he doesn’t mind being objectified now that he’s all abs and washboards:

“I think it’s appalling that for a long time only women were objectified, but I think if we really want to advocate for equality, it’s important to even things out,” he said. “Not objectify women less, but objectify men just as often as we objectify women.”

Yes, exactly! Pratt continued:

“There are a lot of women who got careers out of it, and I’m using it to my advantage. And at the end of the day, our bodies are objects,” the actor said. “We’re just big bags of flesh and blood and meat and organs that God gives us to drive around.”

Of course, we would add a few caveats to equal opportunity objectification. Abs, boobs, breasts, butts, and legs should only be part of the equation, and charm, wit, intelligence, and smolder should be factors, as well (see John Oliver).

We should also add that objectification should be done tastefully and with respect to those being objectified: Yes, please, leer at images of attractive celebrities, but do not leer, catcall, taunt, or harass them in person. For God’s sake, don’t be gross about it. Have some respect!
