Chris Evans and Jenny Slate Are Dating--Here Is Why We Totally Saw This Coming
Last month, Chris Evans and Jenny Slate appeared on Anna Faris Is Unqualified to discuss body hair, dole out advice, and do some serious flirting. I didn’t mention the flirting part. Because I didn’t want to imply that men and women couldn’t be just friends, especially with Slate (seemingly) married at the time.
But I felt it. OH DID I FEEL IT. Those two? Whether they were actually dating at the time or not, WERE READY TO BONE DOWN.
More than that, better than that, it seemed like they really liked each other. Maybe even like they loved each other. It was genuinely adorable. I encourage everyone to listen. But here are some choice reasons I was wholly unsurprised by the news that the two are officially dating (remember what I’ve taught you, my precious jujubees: if it’s in Us Weekly or People, it’s official and usually from the stars themselves).
Chris: “Oddly enough I’ve only known Jenny for a few months which is insane to say.”
Jenny: “It doesn’t feel like that.”
Chris: “It doesn’t at all. We’re like the same animal.”
Sim then pointed out that they were poking each other and Jenny said she slapped him. Anna then said she was singing Chris’s praises earlier and he joked that she should say it again, saying “Jenny, pay attention.”
Then Chris touched Jenny’s gum.
Jenny: “I didn’t know what to expect when I met Chris and I was a little scared. Because I just kind of felt like, well I don’t know him and he’s like a giant man with huge muscles and he’s Captain America, I guess. How could we ever connect? I am the daughter of two artists and very involved in the feminist community. And then when I met Chris and found out that his best friend was a woman, and that that was a very long-term friendship, I had a real moment of shame of being like I definitely prejudged and I had no idea what he was like. The first night we hung out, I was like, I could hang out with Chris for 90 hours.”
She went on.
“When you meet someone and you’ve already had enough of your life that you really know what your tastes are and what makes you feel comfortable, when you meet someone and can really connect to them, you’re kind of like, go for it. Let’s see if we can be real friends. And it is nice, we made a movie together but even after the movie is over, we just have an actual friendship.”
They then talked about body hair (check out this post) and Jenny schooled him and it was wonderful.
There are those with concerns about the timing—that her marriage ending and news of them dating has come in such a short time span.
But sometimes relationships end naturally, and sometimes the feelings toward someone else can remind you of the fact that relationship has ended anyway and this is why you actually need to exit it.
I don’t know what happened in Slate’s marriage. No one does but them. But the chemistry and love (or at least like) between these two was undeniable. LOOK AT THIS PICTURE. They liiiiiiiiiike each other.
