Hey—I bet you didn’t know you wanted this duo to share screen time together until you saw this headline, right?

…and now this is all you can think about, right?

It’s kind of weird that these two have never been in a movie together, isn’t it? They’re both working actors in the industry, and yet their paths have never crossed paths, professionally. It’s time to change that.

I’m not even picky as to what the project would be—but it would be delicious if they were friends on screen, both playing ex-wives to a man who’s done them dirty. Just think of the amazing headlines, and speculation that would happen if these two were to star in a project together.

Think of the manic “no really, I don’t care! Look at me not caring” posturing Tom Cruise would have to do, publicly. He’d be asked questions about this for at least a year! As a result, he’d probably insist that the next Mission Impossible movie do a Cruise-led stunt in real outer space, so intense would his desire be to change the narrative. In this situation, we all win! (Except for maybe Cruise, but I’m pretty sure he can handle it.)

The only situation where I would not want this casting to take place is if Katie and Nicole were to play rivals. That wouldn’t be fun; that would feed into some boring, sexist-tinged trope that women couldn’t possibly get along if they have an ex-husband in common (look no further than the eventual reconciliation of Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor—I’m getting ideas here, friends…too bad Nicole and Katie are way too tall to play either woman.)

So in summation—Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes need to star together in a movie, like, yesterday. Let’s make this happen, Hollywood!
