Budweiser Has Entered the Culture Wars

While Christian and conservative groups continue to push anti-trans legislation in states across the Bible belt (and Florida), corporate America clearly understands where the majority of the nation’s sentiment truly lies (which is again why Trump cannot win). Now, even Anheuser-Busch — manufacturer of lightly alcoholic swill — is weighing in by debuting a new ad campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney, a trans activist and TikTok star.

This is the coolest thing that Anheuser-Busch has done since Budweiser’s “Wassup” ad campaign, and I almost don’t want to make fun of how terrible the beer is. In fact, next time I’m in a bar where good beer is not available, I promise to drink Anheuser-Busch products. Also, I will have no choice. They literally own almost all the national brands. But at least they are pissing off the right people with the Dylan Mulvaney campaign. Like, for instance, Kid Rock, who spent a lot of money so he could shoot their beer.

(“He hates these cans!”)

Elsewhere, country musician Travis Tritt is also taking aim at the beer company, vowing to boycott them, although I have no idea what is left to drink (My favorite response is from someone who said that “being paid in drink tickets” doesn’t count as a rider.)

Tritt would also like us to know how many beer products are owned by Anheuser-Busch.

Aside from local beers, what is left? Basically Heineken. I guess Tritt will have to resort to supporting a Dutch company, instead.

Am I going to have to drink Jack Daniels now, too?

Poor Kid Rock is going to have to brew his own beer because there’s nothing safe to drink for transphobes, not even his beer of choice.
