Bill Maher is no stranger to making idiotic public statements. You may recall that it was this comment that got him fired from ABC after 9/11. And unlike Jason Biggs, Bill Maher’s job is to comment (often amusingly) on current events, so you’d think he’d know better. This comment, made about the conflict between Israel and Hamas, is just strangely, bizarrely sexist
Dealing w/ Hamas is like dealing w/ a crazy woman who's trying to kill u - u can only hold her wrists so long before you have to slap her

I’m not sure which Twitter response I liked better. This one:
@billmaher Trust me Bill, there's nothing crazy about a woman who's trying to kill you.

Or simply this one:
@billmaher - fuck you.

Of course, Maher has had a history of making vaguely and not so vaguely sexist comments, but to merge his casual sexism with a fucking religious war is just kind of … well, typical Bill Maher.
NEW RULE: In the wake of Bill Maher and Jason Biggs’ offensive Twitter comments, celebrities should not be allowed to comment on current events for at least 24 hours until after the triggering event.
