There’s a lot to be thankful about with the current state of affairs in the United States. When it comes to women and pop-culture, we’ve seen a lot of progress, even if it sometimes feels like pulling teeth. I mean: Jennifer Lawrence is the biggest star in Hollywood. Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck is the one comedy that is absolutely going to own this summer. Shonda Rhimes basically controls an entire network now. Taraji P. Henson top-lined the highest rated show on network television this season, Empire. We’re finally getting a Wonder Woman movie. And a Captain Marvel movie. And as Kendrick notes in her tweet, Hillary is running for President again (and her closest competitor, as SNL noted this weekend, is the margin of error).

Sadly, where it truly counts, women are still being held in check, and we as a society should not stop advocating for gender equality until the ratio of boobs to dick on our television screens is 1:1! It’s what this country demands. It’s what this country deserves!
