Aaron Rodgers Is Really Committed to This 'Secret Wife' Bit

In theory, Aaron Rodgers is married. He’s been walking around with a wedding ring on and telling people that he has a wife, so surely, a lovely bride must be waiting at home. There’s just one small problem: Literally no one has seen this woman.

For a nice change of pace from the usual flavor of Aaron Rodgers controversies, this one is far less dangerous to public health, but you better believe there’s a conspiracy theory involved. Namely, that his “secret wife” may not exist.

“She’s like a phantom,” a well-connected Steelers wife told the Daily Mail. “We all want to meet her, to invite her out, get to know her. But we haven’t met her yet. We don’t even know who she is.”

OK, so none of the wives and girlfriends have met Rodgers’ alleged wife, and as of this writing, he’s made no arrangements with the Steelers for her to attend his games. Strange, but not completely abnormal. Some people don’t like mixing their work and home lives. We all have boundaries. The only thing that would make this even weirder is if Rodgers’ friends and family are also completely in the dark. (You see where this is going, don’t you?)

The Daily Mail has spoken with four people in his circle - including members of his estranged family - and they all share the same confusion about the bride’s identity.

‘I get being secretive, but come on,’ a family member told the Daily Mail. ‘At this point, it feels like he’s deliberately keeping her secret from even the people who love him the most.

‘All anyone wants is for Aaron to be happy, so if he’s happy with her, we’d love to meet her. I don’t understand the cloak and dagger part of it all.’

In fairness to Rodgers, and completely in character, he did reveal to The Pat McAfee Show over the summer that his new relationship is intensely private.

“I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye, didn’t sign up to be a celebrity and because I do things in private, because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird.” he said. “My private life is my private life, and it’s going to stay that way.”

Not for nothing, Rodgers also had two very public relationships implode in the form of Olivia Munn and Shailene Woodley. That being said, there’s a fine line between protecting your privacy and making people think you keep this poor woman in a crawl space if you’re not flat-out pulling a Manti Te’o. I’m just some dummy on the internet, but it’s looking like a coin toss between the two.
