Oscar Isaac is re-teaming with his Ex Machina director, Alex Garland, for a movie called Annihilation. Another Garland/Isaac film is the only reason we need to celebrate, but there’s even more! First off, it’s based on the first book of Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach trilogy, and the premise sounds intriguing.

The story centers around a biologist who, in seeking answers to her husband’s tragic disappearance volunteers for a government expedition into an area sealed off as an environmental disaster zone. What she discovers, however, is pristine wilderness, and a mysterious dark force within it.

Cool, cool, cool.

But what about that cast and our collective funny places? Oh, you guys are going to appreciate this. Here’s who stars in the film. WARNING: Objectifying imagery.

Oscar Isaac

Natalie Portman

Jennifer Jason Leigh

I hope there’s a bunk close enough to the movie theater that we can all race back and forth during the screening.

Annihilation begins filming this spring.
