The Cast Of "Game Of Thrones". . .Undressed

Lately, the internet has been having a lot of fun scoping out the cast of “Downton Abbey” in their street clothes. I mean, seriously, daaaaamn O’Brien. And, I know I know, you’ve probably already seen most of the Game of Throners all cleaned up. But seeing as Winter is Here and Cold Winds Are Rising and It’s Time To Put Chains On Your Tires, or something, I thought it was high time we took a look at these lovely faces again. So here they are scrubbed clean and smelling more like Irish Spring than Dire Wolf Excrement. Stick around for a very special sticky treat from author George RR Martin. It’s an evisceratingly good time.

I was all set to comment on the varying levels of attractiveness of the cast and how I want to adopt Maisie Williams and do terrible things to Peter Dinklage and blah blah blah... and then I watched the video. That might be greatest minute and a half of my existence. Thanks, JoRo.

YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE YOUTUBE, PAJIBA. :'(

Posted by: duckandcover at February 14, 2012 2:09 AM

In my imagination, they all hit J. Crew together in their spare time...

Posted by: Angeleno Ewok at February 14, 2012 2:14 AM

I love my Joanna, yet I boo her for her tragic exclusion of Aiden Gillen, TV's Littlefinger, and once upon a time, the sexiest bitch in all of Madchester.

Don't damn him forever for perving on Sansa, The World! He was a handsome, rich as fuck A Gay first.

Posted by: Melodie at February 14, 2012 2:20 AM

I love that picture of Arya and Sansa.

Posted by: Protoguy at February 14, 2012 3:15 AM

What about Rikkon, the Littlest Stark?

Posted by: Jackie at February 14, 2012 3:19 AM

I don't see Brandon either. But holy hell, Emilia Clarke!

Posted by: Joker at February 14, 2012 3:47 AM

What an attractive bunch of people... It is in moments like this that I am most saddened by the banning of a particular Firefly quote.

I'll be...in my bedchamber.

Posted by: Phedre at February 14, 2012 4:22 AM

I adore the "All The Stark Kids And Alfie Allen/Theon Greyjoy"-picture. All the others are smiling and cheery - only Theon looks like he knows he doesn't quite belong. Like he's thinking about the things he did to the two other Stark kids who are missing from this picture...?

Also Sweater!Sean Bean looks like George Michael in that 'Last Christmas' video. It's really sad that I know this.

Posted by: Rooks at February 14, 2012 5:57 AM

Man, Arya is so cool.

Posted by: Frodo Baggins at February 14, 2012 6:17 AM

Love this cast SO MUCH. I wish to make rainbows and babies with all of them. At once.

The Cast Of "Game Of Thrones". . .Undressed

I may have sprained my index finger in trying to click the link at superhuman speed.

Also, is it weird that I want to punch Jack Gleeson in the throat as much as Joffrey Baratheon? It's not right? I wanted to punch him in Batman Begins too.

Natalie Dormer *sigh* Couldn't stand her in The Tudors. ScarJo's long lost fraternal twin? The same lack of everything but a lot skankier. Bitch better not be taking any screen time away from my one and only Khaleesi.

Posted by: haplo at February 14, 2012 8:19 AM

I'll be in my black cell.

Posted by: admin at February 14, 2012 8:54 AM

You know, I don't feel that Lena Headey is that great an actress - she's OK, I suppose. But man, she really is quite something to look at. Emilia Clarke is lovely as well, but a little young for my tastes.

And I want to take Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner out for ice cream and just watch them goof off.

Posted by: Ghisent at February 14, 2012 9:00 AM

Am I correct that Iain Glenn is cross-pollinated from Downton Abbey? Doesn't he play the ruthless bastard who Mary should marry as they deserve each other, and because she needs to be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how to do it?

I bought the first book on the weekend.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at February 14, 2012 9:17 AM

I'll be in my sky cell. I only need one hand to hold on.

Posted by: Mrcreosote at February 14, 2012 9:24 AM

Yes, a thousand times, yes. Sigh. [Waits impatiently for real winter to get here.] And yes, that is exactly how I imagine Martin would read Mother Goose. Probably did so as a child. Love him.

Posted by: sherry at February 14, 2012 9:28 AM

Maisie Williams really must be related to Jack Wild.
It is uncanny.

Posted by: MRod at February 14, 2012 9:50 AM

That's not George RR Martin in the video, but an actor doing a (passable, I suppose) impression of him. The real deal is much more jowly.

Posted by: space oddity at February 14, 2012 9:55 AM

Also, Iain Glenn isn't in Downton, but we do have a Downton actor in the upcoming season. Ygritte is being played by.. I don't remember her name, but it's the red-haired maid who wants to be a secretary.

Posted by: space oddity at February 14, 2012 9:58 AM

True fact - the recipes for little Ms. Moffet's feast are available in an e-book. Too bad it's in Latin, just the way the monks transcribed it.

Posted by: BierceAmbrose at February 14, 2012 10:04 AM

Iain was of course on Downton and Doctor Who, the miniseries Wives and Daughters and my dreams.

Posted by: coveredinbees at February 14, 2012 10:05 AM

IMDb says Iain Glen is on Downton. I say he's yummy.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at February 14, 2012 10:05 AM

Ok. I'm completely wrong about Iain Glenn, since I am not caught up on series 2.

Posted by: space oddity at February 14, 2012 10:06 AM

That picture of Iain Glenn just got me pregnant.

Posted by: feramones at February 14, 2012 10:07 AM

Iain Glen is indeed Sir Richard Carlyle on Downton Abbey, and makes a fantastic job of it, as always, but he's ever so much more delish on GoT. Like Dinklage, he's one of those men who looks better when he's a bit scruffy and stubbly and mussed. He's decidedly combed, pressed and starched on Downton.

And Jason Momoa! Yeah, I know -- precious little love for him on Pajiba. I don't care. I would wreck that.

Posted by: PDamian at February 14, 2012 10:19 AM

Jason Mamoa is the male Jaclyn Smith. Women think Smith is beautiful, but somehow she never made the sexy lists. There's just something missing. For me, Mamoa is the same. He's gorgeous, but some of his synapses are clearly failing to fire.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at February 14, 2012 10:38 AM

Thank you Joanna!

mmmmm Lena Headey......

Posted by: John W at February 14, 2012 10:38 AM

Is it me or does Alfie Allen looked pissed off?

Posted by: John W at February 14, 2012 10:41 AM

Interesting that they cast Natalie Dormer as Margery - considering what she has in common with Anne B.

I love these photos, and love that Emilia Clarke has her clothes on. I've only seen the first two episodes, but while she has lovely breasts, I feel that I've seen enough of them. For now.

Posted by: Captain Tuttle at February 14, 2012 10:49 AM

I defy anyone to look at that picture of Iain Glen and still root for Mary and Matthew.

I firmly believe that Mary and Richard Carlisle would be a magnificent couple together. They are both fabulous looking. They are both ruthless and cold-hearted. They can exchange snide cutting comments all day long.
Matthew, by comparison, is a wussy little boy.

Posted by: PaddyDog at February 14, 2012 10:56 AM

My 13 yo daughter is the one who pointed out to me that Iain Glenn (whom she knows from Dr. Who - are you insane? I wouldn't let my kid watch Game of Tawdry Politics and Vice!!) played Hamlet in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. See what a good Mom I am?

And at first I thought Sean Bean was checking his email, but upon closer inspection I see he's deep in contemplation of his own manly hands. Cause that's just the kind of guy he is.

Posted by: Young_Grandma_Ben at February 14, 2012 10:57 AM

Mmmmmm, Iain Glenn.

Kit Harrington needs to stop looking so damn miserable all the time. It's exhausting. Also, get a haircut.

Oh, Sean Bean. Always and forever in my top 5.

Posted by: figgy at February 14, 2012 11:04 AM

@ Figgy: But he's just staying in character! Jon Snow does not have much to laugh about what with the ... and the ... And if he DARES touch those beautiful locks I will borrow the Murdertank! Did you see him in that picure with the other Stark children. He looks waay better with the unruly mop!

Posted by: Phedre at February 14, 2012 11:11 AM

I am always always stunned at how gorgeous Emilia Clarke is with the darker hair. Not that she's not striking as Dany.

Posted by: Julie at February 14, 2012 11:17 AM

I'm going to make a movie with no dialogue titled Unblinking starring Harry Lloyd, Ian Somerhalder, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Eddie Redmayne, and Cillian Murphy.

It'll be a kind of homage to Ringu but exponentially creepier.

Posted by: branded at February 14, 2012 11:42 AM

It's JAIME Lannister, dagnabbit!!!!

Posted by: derfel at February 14, 2012 11:51 AM

Jack Gleeson looks like he might really be an insufferable shithead in real life.

Posted by: John G. at February 14, 2012 12:00 PM

I'm going to make a movie with no dialogue titled Unblinking starring Harry Lloyd, Ian Somerhalder, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Eddie Redmayne, and Cillian Murphy.

One is bad enough but I think if I saw Redmayne and Murphy together staring at me with those eerie faces, I would not be able to control my bowels.

Posted by: PaddyDog at February 14, 2012 12:02 PM

Yes to that picture of Iain Glen. Also Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The casting on this show is so, so great. I actually love that picture of the Starks + one Snow feat. Theon. And they're in a bookshop! I am so sleep deprived right now, but this is a good start to Valentine's Day.

Posted by: Jenne Frisby at February 14, 2012 12:07 PM

It bears repeating: Iain Glen is scrumptious. I've just decided he will be the male lead in the historical romance novel (I know, shut up) I'm reading.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at February 14, 2012 12:40 PM

I loved Natalie Dormer in The Tudors and I am extremely excited to see her joining the cast.

Posted by: JAJenks at February 14, 2012 12:58 PM

Iain Glenn can butter my muffins any time. And if Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has nothing better to do that day, he can join us for breakfast. And lunch. And tea. You get the idea.

Mrs. Julien make no apologies for reading historical romance novels. Or any romance novels you find to be good books. Fine storytelling can be found in romance novels. Also, very detailed... teatime.

Posted by: Reba at February 14, 2012 1:41 PM

I can't decide who I want to do more, Dinklage or Bean. To be fair, I've wanted to do Bean a lot longer (since Caravaggio, in fact).

Posted by: Jerry at February 14, 2012 2:14 PM

Wait. Why didn't anyone tell me Theon was Lily Allen's little brother? How did I miss this?

My mind is a little bit blown.

Posted by: blorft at February 14, 2012 2:22 PM

I do not give a damn what wet tripe Mrs. Julien chooses to read, because she said this glorious, apt, concise thing:

Jason Mamoa is the male Jaclyn Smith

I'll bet you kill it on Twitter, Mrs J.

Posted by: Salieri2 at February 14, 2012 2:28 PM

That might be the most attractive cast in TV history.

I wonder if Emilia Clarke has men just randomly propose marriage to her. I know if she were near me, I would be looking for jewelry stores.

And Sophie Turner is going to be amazing when she is legal. No comments until then. Just a random thought or 50.

Posted by: Sean at February 14, 2012 3:23 PM

Very excited for the new season, and it's interesting to get a view of most of the cast outside their roles. With the addition of the lovely and talented Natalie Dormer (who made The Tudors in season 1 & 2), TGoT will have the one of the most beautiful and talented cast of women on cable/tv, etc.

Posted by: jc at February 14, 2012 4:52 PM

blorft ,

I just recently found that out as well! It's funny to know he's that "Alfie".

Posted by: =DocDoom= at February 14, 2012 6:25 PM

Oh goddamn, Nikolaj. Oh goddamn, Peter Dinklage.

D'awww, Maisie.

That is all.

Posted by: Aislinn at February 15, 2012 6:40 AM

Tis a pity its not actually George Martin but it is entertaining all the same.

Posted by: supafly at February 15, 2012 11:33 AM

(The face says little b*tch, the Tom Baker scarf says adoctorable.)

You keep your damned dirty Doctor hands out of my Game of Thrones!!

Posted by: Paultera at February 15, 2012 8:04 PM

Bah. I always thought Jaclyn Smith was the sexiest Angel by far. And she still looks (seemingly un-enhanced) awesome many years later!

I'd like to see some goofy outtake photos from the show with all these folks in costume - sort of like the Star Wars ones that have made the rounds.

Posted by: DarthCorleone at February 15, 2012 9:23 PM

Good Goddamn, Iain Glenn.

Posted by: mona sterling at February 16, 2012 8:56 PM

Natalie Dormer looks so much better as a brunette, IMO.

Sean Bean in the fuzzy sweater? All of a sudden, I can't look at him the same way! :p

And Emilia Clarke? Daaaaaaaaamn!!!

Add me to the list of people who want to take Sophie and Maisie out for ice cream just to watch them goof off!
