Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel Throw Down, Les-Mis Style

This video is nearly six years old (in fact, it predates Neil Patrick Harris coming out of the closet) but some enterprising Redditer dug it up in honor of it being a Tuesday, which is really the best reason I could think to dig it up. There’s no statute of limitations on awesome, people. It’s from Megan Mullaly’s old talk show, where the cast of “How I Met Your Mother” sat down, and NPH and Jason Segel broke into an impromptu rendition of “Confrontation” from Les Miserables.

I watch this clip at least once a week because it's just that good. In an interview for I Love You, Man, the interviewer attempted to get Paul Rudd and Jason Segel to do the same exact scene. It fell flat, because you could see that Segel was uncomfortable and Rudd could really care less either way.

Hee - I watch this about once a month! This clip, more than anything else I'd read or heard, was what convinced me to start watching HIMYM.

I’m supposed to be impressed with Jason Segel kissing Neil Patrick Harris? I know Segel is a great guy and all, and I’m sure he never stole a freight train. But all of this kissing some guy just to show how cool you are and how tolerant you are in my opinion is so silly. I grew up around gay people all my life, hell, I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t around gay people, but I’m not about to run out and start tonguing some guy just to prove I’m not homophobic.

I don't even watch HIMYM (and really, from everyone's comments from week to week, I don't think I'm missing much) but DAMN that was impressive. I bow down!

Though I thought I'd get to see them kiss. You big tease.

Dude, my sister and I have been doing this for years. I would even venture to say that we do it better than these two (mostly because of Segel. Sorry, dude).

But it is awesome that they do this regularly. My sis and I can relate. It's the funnest song ever written.

Pookie, that's a screenshot from the blooper reel. They were riffing off the idea that they were going to have a threesome with Lily. She was in the scene too. It had nothing to do with Jason Segel proving anything, so keep your pants on.
