So, let's get to it, shall we?

Last week we saw Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow attempt to quiet doubts about her placement on the team compared to full-fledged super humans Captain America and the Hulk. This week we have Tony Stark giving an incredibly Whedon-esque speech about the awesomeness of those super humans (and one demi-god) to Loki, the villain of the piece who also happens to be an immortal, powerful alien being. Go figure?

Next, courtesy of "The Late Show with David Letterman," we at last have our first extended look at the never-not-stunning Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, second-in-command after Sam Jackson's Nick Fury. Though, 40 seconds may not truly count as "extended." Still, it's dope to see our friend Robin finally living her father's dream:

Now this video is being billed as a "behind-the-scenes" look at the movie, but that feels like a pretty liberal use of the phrase considering it functions more like a trailer with a few choice talking heads interspersed to reassure us that, yes, Avengers is gonna be totally wicked. It isn't not affective:

Finally, we come to the latest TV spot, which has a pretty strong focus on Chris Hemsworth's Thor, which mostly makes me want to watch Thor again. That isn't necessarily a bad thing:

Rob Payne also writes the comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter @RobOfWar, and his ware can be purchased here (if you're into that sort of thing). He wonders if The Avengers means Whedon can never direct Smulders in a Wonder Woman movie; if so, that makes him sad.
