Jon Stewart Put Away the Jokes and Delivered a Somber Commentary on the Charleston Shooting

Jon Stewart put away the jokes on last night’s The Daily Show and instead spoke passionately, somberly, and angrily about the Charleston shooting in a commentary that echoed much of what TK was saying yesterday. “This was a terrorist attack,” Stewart said, and what did we expect?

“The Confederate flag flies over South Carolina. And the roads are named for Confederate generals. And the white guys is the one who feels like the country has been taken from him? We’re brining it on ourselves. And that’s the thing. Al Qaeda, ISIS, all those guys? They’re not shit compared to all the damage we can apparently do to ourselves on a regular basis.”
