Emma Stone Completely Shuts Down Jimmy Fallon, Takes The Title of All-Time Lip Syncing Champion

By Vivian Kane | Videos | April 29, 2014 | Comments ()

Emma Stone is the latest competitor in Jimmy Fallon’s ongoing lip sync battles. This is one of my absolute favorite Tonight Show bits, always worth the 7 or 8 minutes, an eternity in YouTube time. Stone is, I believe, the first female guest to engage in the lip syncing, and wowsers does she bring it. I’d go so far as to say she’s the current title holder for Most Badass Lip Syncer. What she lacks in fancy dance moves she more than makes up for in crazy scary unblinking intensity.

Comments Are Welcome, Bigots and Trolls Are Not

  • BlackRabbit

And upon re-watching, Jimmy's expression when she starts the Ludacris part of the song is great.

  • Intense lip sync skills and back to red hair? Oh, Emma Stone, you spoil me.

  • Jifaner

She was great and I LURVE her, but Paul Rudd pwns all.

  • SlurpyDurp

    Best of all-time: Paul Rudd

  • Bananaranma

They need a Lip Sync All-Stars...get Emma Stone, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Paul Rudd. Maybe Jimmy could bring on Justin Timberlake as his ringer.

  • BettyNugs

    Don't forget John Krasinski!

  • BAM

Can we get her to play Wonder Woman?

  • Davis

Too skinny is what people would say

  • Your move, Kendrick.

  • Pants-are-a-must

Kendrick can bring the house down by real singing, though, so that feels a bit like a waste.

  • NateMan

I think that'd be part of the fun of it. Kendrick could go on, Fallon could refuse to let her sing for real and make her lip-synch. It'd be a fun bit.

  • I have no interest in seeing Spider-Man, but I am SO glad that the media pole dance has brought Emma Stone back.

  • Jim

I think it was wise of Fallon to get in touch with his inner "Manila Luzon doing MacArthur Park"

  • I think Jennifer Lawrence needs to be the next participant in this exercise.

  • Davis

She'd forget the words or do something wacky like that

  • Gord Reid

I take comfort in the realization that if there are an infinite number of parallel universes, then it is a mathematical certainty that in one of these universes, I am the sexual Double Stuf filling to Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence's respective Oreo cookie layers.

(I also choose to ignore the fact that in another one of these universes, I inevitably play the same sandwich filling role to the pairing of a PCP-fueled Bill Goldberg and MechaZombie Andre the Giant.)

  • LL

Emma won for lyric memorization and intensity, but come on.. Jimmy won for that facial expression.

  • BootlegGinger

this makes me feel much cooler when i think about what i do on friday nights when my roommates go out and i stay in.

  • _Alexander_

Emma Stone is everything. We should all worship her

  • Game. Over.

  • hapl0

I fail at hating Emma Stone no matter how hard I try. Every time.

  • BlackRabbit

Well, those bangs were making me twitch, and she looks odd not-blonde, but those are flaws that make the whole more appealing.

  • NateMan

I think she's far hotter as a brunette.

  • WestCoastPat

I'm willing to discuss Emma Stone in the top 3, but best of all time still belongs to Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

For the record, the other top 3 would be John "Boyz II Men" Krasinski

  • What about Paul Rudd? Sounds like there needs to be a lip synch thunder dome on the Tonight Show stage

  • Michelle

Paul Rudd was glorious. I still think Krasinski takes it though.

  • Houston Shearon

I believe Stephen Merchant's 'All the Single Ladies' deserves consideration as well.

  • kirbyjay

I agree. Merchant's Beyoncé Shake was the all time best! Rudd next and then Emma Stone.
So it is.....so it shall be....

  • emmalita

Emma Stone channels much larger dudes really well. That was impressive.

  • Gord Reid

I'd like you to take a minute, sit over there and reflect upon the picture you have painted with your dirty, dirty words.

  • Valhallaback Girl

Proof that Jimmy Fallon loves us, and wants us to be happy.
