The History of Nick Miller and Jessica Day's Relationship Told Through GIFs

By Dustin Rowles | TV Reviews | May 15, 2013 | Comments ()

In the beginning, there was a playful animosity between Nick and Jess.

Then Nick fell in love with Jess' boyfriend (played by Dermot Mulroney).

Nick proved, afterwards, that regardless of any romantic attraction, he cared about Jess.

He wanted what was best for Jess.

She wanted what was best for him.

He built her a dresser.

They tried to deny their feelings, while admitting their attraction.

But the flirtation continued.

Eventually, they would kiss. And man, that was a kiss.

For Jess, Nick tried to be a better person, but a better person wasn't Nick.

They tried to bury their feelings again, but it was useless.

Eventually, they would sleep together.

Jess got what she wanted.

But Nick is kind of a mess, and nearly f**ked it up, again.

So Nick called it ... but Jess uncalled it.

And they kissed again.

... and they lived happily ever after, at least until season three.

I am probably going to be hated for saying this but I didn't really care for this season. Last season this show was must see tv for me and this season after it became the Nick and Jess show I started watching it on Saturdays or Sundays when I had nothing better to do. It got boring. This whole show is now their relationship and it really doesn't show the whole group hanging out anymore it's super frustrating.

Next season I hope that whatever relationship between Nick and Jess doesn't take over the whole show. That CeeCee sits in a corner somewhere, that Schmidt and Elizabeth get together, and that they actually have more storylines for Winston

  • Tinkerville

Something about Winston talking about the earth by himself in the ducts just slayed me. I hope they give him more to do next season because his comedic timing's impeccable.

Is that the most "pajiba" sentence ever written?

  • Batesian

Am I the only one who thinks Nick and Jess are better off as friends?

(Also: shout out to Bucky Badger -- On, Wisconsin!)

  • Janey

That kiss was THE BEST KISS EVER

  • MGMcD

I always thought Nick was cute and I loved the character but he didm't really moisten my lions until that first kiss. Now I want to watch him kiss her all the time. I don't even fantasize about him kissing me. I fantasize about watching him kiss other people. Gdamn.

  • TheOriginalMRod

I am glad there are some new cool shows coming out... I am going to miss Nick and Jess... And Schmidt and Winston... Okay all of it.

  • The only thing more ridiculous than running a sabo on CeCe's wedding was CeCe almost getting married. And CeCe might be more of a dick than the badger for confronting Schmidt like that in front of his current girlfriend.

I used to think Cotton Eye Joe was the worst song ever. But somehow Nick made it ok. After that how could Jess not want to uncall it?

  • alwaysanswerb

This really was a flawless execution of "Cotton Eye Joe"

  • Alex0001

"Do you really need me to be here for this?"

  • Classic

I kinda hate CeCe now. Schmidt wanted to be with her and she knew getting married was messing him up but then decides when he has finally moved on to pick someone. Bitch please.

  • mairimba

I like Cece, but you don't express your feelings for someone in front of the person they're with. That's just rude.

  • MauraFoley
  • It has to be CeCe. Put a dollar in the Douche Bag jar, but Schmidt is the Schmidt we need on that show when he is with CeCe.

  • PerpetualIntern

I don't know. Dancing big Schmidt is on par with Douchebag Schmidt for me.

  • Dancing big Schmidt is hilarious. I just don't want to see him go soft (emotionally).

  • koko temur

"i dont think the badger is actually rabid, i just think he is kinda a dick"

  • Jack Johnson looks like he might be one of the best kissers in the history of ever.

  • JAKE Johnson. Damn it. Jack Johnson is probably a *terrible* kisser.

  • MauraFoley

But he'd kiss you all over your bubbly toes, so that's gotta count for something.

(That joke made me hate myself.)

  • Calraigh

I loved it. And therefore, you! So. Not a total loss. Happy scrunched face!

  • BigBlueKY

The Cotton Eye Joe fist pumping adequately describes my feelings after scrolling through all of these. Big smile.

  • "This is where I belong-with Winston and a badger."

I can't stop laughing at it.

I hope Schmidt chooses Elizabeth, despite my love of him and CeCe.

  • PerpetualIntern

That ep made me very happy. And I really love Elizabeth.
