You're forgetting that Moffat isn't writing "Sherlock" alone, all the episodes are co-written by Mark Gatiss, who likely keeps him in check as much as the source material.

Doctor Who: The Weeping Angels. Blink was brilliant. But then the
next angel episode has them moving very slowly, when the whole point was
that they move very fast when you are not looking. But Amy has her
eyes closed and isn't looking, just pretending like she's looking, but
there are angels behind her moving very slowly. I didn't like that he
    changed the rules.

Buffalo Bill/Stodelmeyer = Ted Levine. I would be evicted from my couch if I didn't know that.

    Sh*t Talking "Doctor Who" Edition...

How is this different then any other Station Agents podcast in the Moffat era?

    RE: Doctor Who vs. Sherlock.

Sherlock is closely based on Conan Doyle's stories, so he's not changing too much stuff. He has to stick to the characters and the stories, while just updating them to today's tech. Even Conan Doyle used the most current tech for the time. I'm also a huge fan of the original stories, and I loved the Jeremy Brett TV show, because they not only followed the original stories a T, but they also recreated the original illustrations when they shot the scenes. From that standpoint, I'm not as happy with Sherlock as I could be.

Doctor Who: Girl in the Fireplace. I HATED when the Doctor rode the horse through the mirror. Micky asks why they don't use the TARDIS, and there was some stupid comment about things being in motion. However, he could have said that he couldn't pinpoint land the TARDIS at the exact moment needed, and he could land 100 miles away or 100 minutes too late to save her.

Doctor Who: The Weeping Angels. Blink was brilliant. But then the next angel episode has them moving very slowly, when the whole point was that they move very fast when you are not looking. But Amy has her eyes closed and isn't looking, just pretending like she's looking, but there are angels behind her moving very slowly. I didn't like that he changed the rules.

Speaking of Blink, I think the best episodes are the ones where the Doctor barely appears. I loved the one about the absorbing monster.
