Comments Are Welcome, Jerks Will Be Banned

  • Sherrie Ludwig

OK Gotta look up Conrad Veidt and The Man Who Laughs. Way creepy makeup, beautifully done for the time. And, yes, Lon Chaney was the master to whom all can aspire.

  • damnitjanet

WHY THE FUCK DID YOU USE MAMA PEACOCK????? That is the single scariest episode of anything, ever!

  • axis2clusterB

Wow. Young John Hurt had it GOING ON.

  • e jerry powell

Matuszak was a big walking box of sexy in his day.

I have immense respect for prosthetic makeup artists. And actors who have to wear those prostheses, because that much time in the makeup chair before and after a shoot cannot be fun.

  • Jim

True and I must add "Heelllloooo ZombieClown" - just adorbs.

  • apsutter

    Eric Stoltz?!

  • John W

    Whoa!

  • BWeaves

Can't believe you left off Lon Chaney, Sr.

  • Uriah_Creep

You have to remember that Dustin is just a kid (and he keeps walking on my lawn; get off!)

  • foolsage

    The Phantom of the Opera

Lon Chaney, Sr. (suave as all hell)

    http://image1.findagrave.com/p...

  • BWeaves

Thank you! Although that's a photo of his son, Lon Chaney, Jr.

    This is Lon Chaney, Sr.

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wi...

  • foolsage

Whoops! You're quite right. I was looking for a picture of LC Sr. as a younger man to highlight the fact that he was far from monstrous in person.

  • $3647259

    Damn!...

  • chanohack

Anything Peacock related ought to come with a warning. That picture put me into fight-or-flight mode.

  • Belladonna Took

Yes, just hearing Johnny Mathis' "Wonderful, Wonderful" brings chills up and down my spine.

  • chanohack

    ME TOO.

  • Wigamer

I HAD BEEN TRYING TO FORGET THAT, DAMMIT!

  • ViciousTrollop

Doug Jones also played Billy Butcherson in Hocus Pocus. I guess I have to go watch it now.

  • Professor Sara

And he's the body of Abe Sapien in the Hellboy movies. And a Gentleman in Buffy's Hush! He is all creepy things.

  • Ben

He also got to be hte voice for Abe in Hellboy 2. And was also the Fawn in Pans Labrynth as well, even though he can't speak spanish he learnt all his lines phonetically for the role.

  • $3647259

But, unfortunatelly, they still chose to have his lines dubbed by a Spanish actor (Pablo Adán).

  • foolsage

To be fair, Doug's accent wasn't convincing. His acting was beyond reproach though.

  • Three_nineteen

WHY FLUKEMAN THAT IS HORRIBLE I HAVE TO DIG OUT MY X-FILES DVDs NOW

  • PDamian

John Hurt was quite the cutie, wasn't he?

    And DAMN, Naomi Grossman.

  • Sean

To be fair, that might be the best photo she ever took. https://www.google.com/search?...
Although she is very interesting looking.

  • BlackRabbit

How did they do that to Ms. Grossman? Is it CGI? And is Bicycle Girl Zombie important in some way on the show, out of curiosity?

  • Robert

Grossman is all prosthetics. The fake teeth are the biggest change: they're so exaggerated that they change the shape of her face. Same with the ear prosthetics.

It looks like they used an appliance to extend her brow bone that they punched the eyebrows into. I also seem to remember they actually shaved her head to get the hairstyle right.

The rest is makeup. You can make a nose look wider by adding a thicker highlight on the bridge of the nose. The lips are underpainted to make them look smaller. There is no makeup on the lashline but heavy cream makeup under the eyes to create the dark circles and bags.

  • BlackRabbit

Excellent, thanks for both informative answers.

  • Legally Insignificant

If memory serves, Rick comes back to kill the zombie to put it out of the misery in the first episode. It shows Rick's humanity in an inhumane climate.

  • BlackRabbit

But...it's not human. So not killing a zombie isn't inhumane, is it? Or does it make sense if I watch the episode?

  • inviktus1983 .

I think you just misunderstood the comment.

  • Madly

Rick realized she had once been human, as had they all. So before he finished her off, he said, "I'm sorry this happened to you." It was a way of saying, "I'm sorry this happened to everyone, to the planet, to humanity, but to each individual, too."
He gave her dignity, in her last moments.

  • Ben

It was human, and at that point in the show it's the first eppisode and he doesn't know what's going on yet or what the zombies actually are.

  • Hazel Dean

We also learn her back story in the Walking Dead webisodes you can watch here: http://www.amctv.com/the-walki...

  • BWeaves

I was thinking, "DAMN, John Hurt!"

  • zyzzyva

Am I a horrible person for expecting this post to be photos of reality stars, pre- and post-plastic surgery?

  • What does Charlie Sheen actually look like when he takes off that grotesque disguise?

  • Joe Grunenwald
  • lowercase_ryan

I wish Pepper was a witch.
