Do you mean July 14, 2011?

Good list. GoT needs to sweep.

Posted by: TylerDFC at June 9, 2011 11:57 AM

RuPaul's Drag Race is campaigning hard for that Emmy nomination. I think they're putting even more focus on RuPaul for Outstanding Host. If both happen, I'll be over the moon.

Posted by: Robert at June 9, 2011 11:58 AM

Man, we're in for a world of disappointment.

Posted by: jM at June 9, 2011 12:00 PM

you have Elisabeth Moss nominated in both leading and supporting actress categories.

(Gah. Thanks. Corrected -- DR

Posted by: luke at June 9, 2011 12:00 PM

I feel sad for Donald Glover.

Posted by: Cree83 at June 9, 2011 12:04 PM

Lady Zuffle and me finished watching season 2 of Justified last night, and spent a good hour discussing how Margo Martindale’s performance as Mags Bennett is clearly one of the best things ever committed to screen. Simply astonishing. I really hope she gets some recognition for it.

Posted by: Zuffle at June 9, 2011 12:08 PM

Friday Night Lights. From your lips to God's ears.

Posted by: Will at June 9, 2011 12:11 PM

Uh...so you fixed Elizabeth Moss for Christine Baranski, but not the show (Good Wife instead of Mad Men)...sorry to nitpick.

Also, let's take bets on whether RuPaul attends in drag or not. I say no.

Posted by: Kristobel at June 9, 2011 12:14 PM

RuPaul probably won't attend in drag. He'll probably show up in a really sharp tailored tux from that German company that provided all his menswear on the show. He will fight for as many of this season's girls to attend as possible and they will cover the glamor.

Posted by: Robert at June 9, 2011 12:17 PM

WaltON Goggins. You seem to have a block about that (or an auto-correct). Also, I hope he wins, because he's friggin brilliant in that role.

Posted by: RebaSays at June 9, 2011 12:25 PM

Yeah, it's looking more and more like he's just ready to hang it up. He spends significantly more time out of drag then in it now. Hence why he's seeking a "replacement" I suppose.

I am looking forward to Raven's ensemble.

Posted by: Kristobel at June 9, 2011 12:32 PM

As long as they don't skip on Margo Martindale's nomination and win, I'm ok.

And if she don't win, I will call all the clans of Harlan County to rain holy hell down on all those heathens!

Posted by: Fredo at June 9, 2011 12:49 PM

Adding to the love for RuPaul's Drag Race. In my opinion, it's overdue for a nomination. (I got to interview the cast and Ru and they couldn't have been nicer.) The show constantly delivers and RuPaul is just plain awesome - he's 2 hosts for the price of one!

Also happy to see more Emmy prognostication for my beloved Hamm and Toni Colette (so sad that "Tara's" going of the air. I find it slightly ironic that the arrival of Eddie Izzard marked the end of this show that I love. I was crushed when The Riches got s-canned!

Posted by: SugarKane at June 9, 2011 12:51 PM

Am I missing something or are you actually predicting no wins for Breaking Bad? Are they not eligible because of the weird timing of their seasons?

Posted by: aroorda at June 9, 2011 1:05 PM

Can you please have a Raylan picture at the top of every post? I don't really care if it's related. Thanks!

Posted by: Laura at June 9, 2011 1:08 PM

Also, so happy that Peter Dinklage got a nomination!! Margo Martindale as well, she was outstanding!

Posted by: Laura at June 9, 2011 1:10 PM

If Peter Dinklage doesn't win or doesn't even get nominated the Emmy's should burn

Posted by: Minto at June 9, 2011 1:13 PM

John Noble > Everybody
This list is invalid.

Posted by: Amanda at June 9, 2011 1:14 PM

I read somewhere that Game of Thrones wasn't eligible this year.

Posted by: Todd at June 9, 2011 1:40 PM

Oh, please. You think the Emmys are gonna go a year without nominated Hugh Laurie for Best Dramatic Actor? Scratch our Chandler or Olyphant, and I'd much rather it be Olyphant that gets ignored.

And Louie?! HA. HAHA. No.

Posted by: Figgy at June 9, 2011 1:47 PM

*nominating.

Posted by: Figgy at June 9, 2011 1:51 PM

Wishful thinking, because the Emmy's always throw some bones towards the massive bag of shite that CBS constantly produces.

Something dumb always happens, like Mike and Molly for outstanding comedy. Because if they didn't, then what the fuck would we have to write about?

Posted by: D-Day at June 9, 2011 1:55 PM

D-Day, that's just silly. Everyone knows they'll just nominate Melissa McCarthy in Leading Actress because they liked her in Bridesmaids and skip out on nominating the show altogether.

Posted by: Robert at June 9, 2011 2:14 PM

No Archer? I call shenanigans.

Posted by: ponch at June 9, 2011 2:17 PM

I think I'll have to come and read this post on the day the actual nominations are announced and just pretend it's real. But like everyone else has said, if Margo Martindale isn't on the real list (and doesn't win) then the Emmy's can just fuck off and die.

Posted by: Nicole at June 9, 2011 2:19 PM

Reality Show:
Host: Cat Deeley
Show: So you think you can dance

Why does she keep getting overlooked? She's the best!

Posted by: kilmo at June 9, 2011 2:31 PM

I hope GoT and Peter Dinklage are nominated and win.

Posted by: John W at June 9, 2011 2:38 PM

The shitty timing of the seasons of Breaking Bad screws things up. I just assumed that they just keep Bryan Cranston's name engraved on the trophy. Oh well, he will win again next year.

And I can't wait for Margo Martindale's acceptance speach.

Posted by: Sean at June 9, 2011 2:59 PM

I just checked and Breaking Bad is definitely eligible (though only two episodes aired during the period.) I find it hard to believe that the show that's been dominating the emmys the last three years will get no nominations at all...

Posted by: aroorda at June 9, 2011 2:59 PM

As long as Walton Goggins and Margo Martindale are both nominated and both win their categories, I can live with my other favorites being ignored. Those are my non-negotiable demands.

Posted by: Michelle at June 9, 2011 3:24 PM

aroorda, that is interesting. Would have been fun if Cranston was nominated for those two episodes. And won two year in a row, for the same season. I just think it matters when the season started, not when it ended. Don't worry, they will all win next year.

Posted by: Sean at June 9, 2011 3:44 PM

I hate that they keep ignoring Cat Deeley. And the only reason I can think of as to why they do this is that she doesn't have that Fame Whore factor that all the other hosts do. Those people who want to be everywhere and everything all the time, to be known for more than just hosting a show. Which is exactly what makes Cat so awesome, but also what makes her easy to ignore by the Emmys. It's sad.

Posted by: Figgy at June 9, 2011 4:29 PM

Give an award to Peter Dinklage and then have him and Jane Lynch get hammered backstage and make fun of people as the camera lingers on the audience and red carpet. Now THAT's a show I'd watch.

Posted by: bokchoi at June 9, 2011 4:29 PM

...and Amanda has a point. John Noble brings so much to Dr. Bishop. Best (and often the only) reason to watch "Fringe"

Posted by: bokchoi at June 9, 2011 4:32 PM

Ty Burrell was robbed!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at June 9, 2011 4:46 PM

haven't seen every show and/or performance here but based on what i have seen i think FNL should win best drama, actor, actress.

the supporting roles need to go to peter and margo as some have already said.

the rest i don't care about so much

Posted by: splinter at June 9, 2011 6:59 PM

That is one horrible nomination list. Fallon? SNL? Parks and Recreation? The other crap. If I bothered watching the Emmies to begin with I'd be very upset. Well I wouldn't because besides the daily show when have they ever gotten it right?

Posted by: googergieger at June 9, 2011 7:31 PM

No Anna Torv or John Noble after they hoave both garnered such critical acclain this season, what a sham. The Golden Globes seem to know good acting the academy needs to catch up instead of the same old tired names every year.

Posted by: ann at June 9, 2011 8:04 PM

It's WALTON Goggins, BTW. Love that "Justified".

Posted by: Joe Ramsey at June 9, 2011 8:59 PM

Cat Deely better finally get nominated (and win). She's by far the best host, of the best reality show on tv.

And on a completely different topic, Alan Cumming was bloody amazing this season, and I hope he gets nominated and wins.

Posted by: DominaNefret at June 10, 2011 1:36 AM

Irrfan Khan, In Treatment for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, watch it on HBOGO and tell me I'm wrong

Posted by: Roger at June 10, 2011 2:41 AM

Anna Torv is the outstanding lead actress.

Anna Torv has carried season 3 of Fringe, multiple Olivia's and channeling an 80 year old man, in IMO she is far more deserving of an Emmy then any other actress/actor.

Posted by: Passing at June 10, 2011 9:09 AM

Torv, Noble, Jackson, Nicole, Reddicks, Acevedo. The entire cast of Fringe deserves nominations.

Posted by: Adam C. at June 10, 2011 4:04 PM

googergieger-
dissing parks and rec? why are you on this site? leave. byeee.

Posted by: anna at June 10, 2011 7:44 PM

I didn't realize this site was dedicated to that one show. Good to know anna. Good to know.

Posted by: googergieger at June 11, 2011 2:03 AM

As much as I love Charlie Day, there is no way he's getting a nomination. Is he even submitted as a lead actor?

"Give an award to Peter Dinklage and then have him and Jane Lynch get hammered backstage and make fun of people as the camera lingers on the audience and red carpet. Now THAT's a show I'd watch."

That's a show I'd pay to watch. Throw it on PPV for $49.95 it would be worth every penny.

Posted by: John at June 24, 2011 1:57 PM

I think most of this list is good. But Jim Parsons and The Big Bang Theory should be on that list. Jim Parsons has a lot more talent than Joel McHale, Charlie Day, and Louie, JMO. And where is Breaking Bad for best drama? Or Bryan Cranston who has won 3 years in a row, and what about Aaron Paul? Micheal Shannon also should have a spot in the supporting character category. And True Blood should be chosen over the Walking Dead any day of the week. Some might agree or disagree, but that's my opinion.
