Yeah, I didn't really watch any of these shows.

I seriously thought it was a list of characters who had been racist until Ann...

But Marta being replaced was part of the joke about her character! The character was on some kind of Latin American soap opera, and people are continually being replaced on those kinds of shows, so they kept replacing the actresses playing Marta on AD as a joke about that kind of show.

Well I always found it really weird how Ross' lesbian ex-wife was recast in the subsequent episodes from the pilot because I'd be like...They're the same person...but different...

I noticed Ann and Marta the first time I watched AD. I really liked the first Marta and was bummed when she was replaced.

I re-watched the pilot episode of Revenge on Hulu during the winter break, and Amanda's dad was played by Marc Blucas, aka Riley Finn. I'm not sure if it ever aired on the network, but it was weird as hell to watch.

Everything Marc Blucas is in is weird as hell to watch.

You forgot Morty Seinfeld in Seinfeld. The original was weird as fuck but he did have a good plan for Jerry in the Stakeout episode.

The only one I noticed at the time was Backup.

The changing Frank Costanza thing could be especially confusing for some, because at one point they actually re-shot Randolph's scenes with Stiller in his place. So if you see reruns in syndication, it's as if Randolph was never there. (Though I think he's still on the DVD.)

I think I saw it the other way around: I have the DVDs and I just recently found out there was another actor when I caught a rerun on TV. SO I'm guessing they replaced him on the DVDs, or I just didn't realize it.

You could be right; replacing him on the DVDs makes more sense. I remembered the fun fact but not all the details. FUN FACT FAIL.

Yeah, I think you have the first two women mixed up there. Varela is first, then Velasquez, then the poor anonymous actress. Which is kind of amusing, given the headline.

This is obscure, but I still remember being disappointed when they replaced James Marsden (playing Neve Campbell's on-and-off boyfriend Griffin) in Party of Five's first season finale with Jeremy London for subsequent episodes.

This whole Ann from Arrested Development thing is even more mindblowing to me because I thought Ann was played by Allison Pill this whole time.

Really? That always bothered me, I had to tell myself the characters got a new dog and were to broken up about the original Backup dying they NEVER spoke of it.

Seriously. I've watched the whole series a couple of times and completely failed to notice that Backup completely changed breed, size and colour.

I am however relieved that the Sylars in shadows were not hallucinations of mine; For so long I kept on thinking Quinto's character in Heroes is able to also wear other people's skins... Like some Stark descendant.

The original dog apparently would not do the stunts needed because the trainer didn't have him ready in the pilot to attack or jump out of the car. Its ok...I like pit bull Backup better. ;)

Wait....when did current Gordon join the Seasame St cast because I swore to myself that he was the OG Gordon from when I was little...but maybe I ate too much acid in college? I don't remember EITHER of those other guys and I watched A LOT of that show growing up.

That show has been on for decades. I think they've recast more than just Gordon.

I loved Pam's mom #1 on the office. It was a bummer they replaced the actress, but even more so when the character totally flipped from super nice lady to bitter and cynical (granted, she was busy glaring at her ex-husband and his young girlfriend, but still - did the writers forget we'd already met her?).

My mind would be be blown about Egg*, if I could remember her.
