This list was more interesting in its genesis when I thought my research was going to reveal lots of celebrities with polydactylism, as well as third nipples. Still, some of this I didn’t know, and might be met with varying degrees of fascination.

  • Mark Wahlberg has a third nipple.

  • Both Gemma Arterton and Taye Diggs were born with an extra fingers on each hand.

  • Forest Whitaker was born with ptosis, which is a drooping eyelid. It is something he can have surgery to correct, but he has not yet. It works for him.

  • Several celebrities were born with Heterochromia, which means that their eyes are two different colors. Those include Dan Aykroyd, Jane Seymour, Mila Kunis, Alice Eve, Kate Bosworth, Simon Pegg, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Seems like Heterochromia can actually be advantageous for an actor.

  • Dudley Moore and Damon Wayans were born with clubfoot.

  • John Cougar Mellencamp was born with mild spina bifida.

  • Meryl Streep has an uncorrected deviated septum, while Ashley Tisdale has a corrected deviated septum.

  • Joaquin Phoenix was born with a scar on his lip (it is not the result of a repaired cleft lip or palate. It is simply a birth mark).

  • Amanda Peete, Isabella Rossellini, Rene Russo, and Shailene Woodley have all suffered from scoliosis.

  • Catherine Zeta Jones has a minor surgical scar on her neck from a tracheotomy she received when she was two, after a virus left her with severe breathing difficulties.
