So let’s cut right to the chase: What Scott Walker just said is murder. And, no, not in the right-wing, anti-choice parlance of “abortion is murder.” It’s actual, straight-up murder that is illegal and not a thing that people are doing under the umbrella of abortion. No one who is pro-choice is advocating taking home a live baby that has been cleared by a physician — which has to happen before you can leave a hospital — and then going, “You know what? I changed my mind,” and murdering it dead.
F*ck anyone who is even thinking of saying that is a thing.
Unfortunately, we live in the dumbest, most gullible butthole of all timelines (Suicide bird-monster, anyone?), so there’s sadly no shortage of rubes eager to lap up the latest panic over “late-term abortions,” which is not a thing by the way. There’s a goddamn smorgasbord of information out there that should stop any reasonable person from repeating horseshit talking points from our dick-joke of a president, and yet here’s #Resistance Leader Meghan McCain, who we’re constantly told is one of the “good” Republicans, going whole-hog on this nonsense.
Via The Daily Beast:
“If Democrats want to win an election going forward, are you going to be the party of late-term abortion?” McCain asked. “Are you going to be the party of infanticide?” She then added, “If you think that is how you win back the White House, I’m here on [sic] tell you, I spent a lot of time in red states. I’m from a red state. That is a losing argument.”When Hostin dared to “push back” on her co-host’s point, McCain lost it. “I thought you were pro-life like me,” McCain told her. “So you think a baby born from a botched abortion should be put down like a dog or a cat?”
And per the rules laid out in The Book of Moron, here’s the double-down:
I’m pro-life, and not in the talking point of “not for me but okay for other people” sense. I stand by what I said this morning, if the Democratic Party wants to be the party of late term abortion and infanticide, they won't just lose - history will judge them for what they did.

Because it needs to be repeatedly said: Late-term abortion is a bullshit term. Republicans are railing against heart-wrenching medical procedures that make up barely one percent of abortions and are almost always the result of a wanted pregnancy becoming a full-on nightmare of the body, mind, and soul. Unfortunately, we live in a callous, theocratic hell-hole where supposedly compassionate Christians demand that our government do the work of an all-powerful deity by forcing babies to stay in their ovens until God is ready for them to come out.
Here’s my rebuttal: F*ck off.
On that note, I defer to the consistently awesome Dr. Jen Gunter, who’s in the trenches fighting the good fight.
I never understood the human decency of 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions until I delivered my own son and watched him die.

It broke me.
It is a kindness to offer women an alternative where they don’t have to live it. To feel it. To see it.
I’m a pretty fucking strong person. I’ve been through a lot. Nothing prepared me for the horror of my delivery and son’s death and I am an OB/GYN with a lot of experience in helping women with fetal anomalies. So think on that.

Because I watched my son die, I had to give up OB, what was I going to do? Deliver babies in the room where my son died?

When it hasn’t happened to you personally you have the mental luxury of not experiencing all of the downstream ramifications.
And if you think what I went through was no big deal, then read through what happened. Step by step. Then read it back to me.

P.S. Dr. Jen’s New York Times column chronicles an ordeal that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Folks, them females are strong as hell.
