Which of These 15 Women Should Be Annointed the Ultimate Pajiban Girl Crush?

By Dustin Rowles | Miscellaneous | March 6, 2013 | Comments ()

There's been a lot of talk in our comments section, especially of late, about girl crushes (both from men and women). There used to be a more obvious designee, but opinions change, certain people fall out of favor while others rise to the top. It's a slow news morning, so out of my own sense of curiosity, I'd like to know 1) who do you think the Ultimate Pajiba Girl Crush should be, and 2) how can you possibly vote for just one (note: In the poll at the bottom of the page, you can only vote for one).

Good luck narrowing it down.

So, none of these girls have names, just 2D object-archetypes?

  • Jezzer

I nominate Lena Dunham for "Girl, Crushed."

  • Devlin4

I voted for Jennifer Lawrence. There are many, many reasons as to why so, I will narrow it down as best as I can: Incredibly talented, kick-ass personality, and then there's that VOICE (I'm a sucker for husky voiced people), those amazing blue eyes, gorgeous figure. All the ladies listed are awesome for different reasons (and I agree, Fey and Poehler are the classics and forever will be) but, Lawrence wins this one hands down.

  • kirbyjay

My Mila crush is so strong that Mr. Kirbyjay and the young Kirbyjays know about it and tease me non stop about my girlfriend.

  • Whatever

    Too many white people.

  • Ben

Amy all the way, no contest (Well almost a contest between her and Tina, but Parks edges out 30 rock for my fave commedy so Amy wins)

  • Blake

Are we doing a Second Round? If yes:

    Next Round:

    Tina Fey
    Amy Poehler
    Jennifer Lawrence
    Mila Kunis
    Anna Kendrick
    Alison Brie

    New Contestants:

    Emma Stone
    Felicia Day
    Kristen Bell
    Lizzy Caplan
    Brie Larson
    Gillian Jacobs

Eliminated: Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway,Lena Dunham,Olivia Munn,Sutton Foster, Emilia Clarke, Zooey Dechanel,Katie Aselton, Casey Wilson

  • Blake

    and Christina Hendricks.

  • Blake

    And K-Win.

  • toblerone

    + Emily Blunt.

  • Az

    Rachel Weisz always and forever.

  • David Sorenson

    No Helen Mirren?

  • Muhnah_Muhnah

I want to go to a wine bar with JLaw and get drunk and make fun of all wankers one usually finds in wine bars. BUT I want to drink wine with Mila Kunis and have all kinds of sex (even the wrong kinds...especially the wrong kinds...don't ask). In addition to this, I want Tina Fey to be my best friend who tells me that the stuff I'm doing with Mila is really weird and I should really stop fantasising about a threesome with Kerry Washington.

In other news, I've had a lot of wine tonight.

  • Jo 'Mama' Besser

I see that Patricia Routledge has been overlooked, again. No Bucket, no peace.

  • crispin

I'm curious as to the seeming backlash against Bree lately. It seems to have been popping up more and more and I, for the life of me, can't understand why. The only theory I can think of at the moment is that she seems to be growing into "musical theater student" mode more and more in interviews.

  • MissAmynae

Anna, JLaw, Sutton. I like funny, whiskey, and show tunes.

  • logan

    Soooo predictable.

  • Donna SHerman

My holy trinity of my-age girl-crushes is:
    Jennifer Lawrence
    Emma Stone
    Mila Kunis
    In that order.

Old school? That's harder because it's been going on longer, there are more to choose from, and they fade in and out of my memory, but as it stands, here's who comes to mind:
    Amy Poehler
    Kate Walsh
    Amy Yasbeck

I'm sure there are others I'll immediately regret not adding...

  • Where's Aisha Tyler?

  • If Lena Dunham ends with 0 percent of the vote, does that mean she gets banned from the site for eternity?

  • Lee

Dunham deserves to be there more than the annoying Anne Hathaway, who deserved the backlash thoroughly. Dunham is clever and talented and doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. They are sexy traits.

  • crispin

Please let it happen. She ain't all that.

  • Jennell

No Emma Stone? Not voting until this travesty is corrected.

  • Fabius_Maximus

  • Adrienne Marie

Can I write in a vote for Jane Levy and Martha Plimpton?

  • Sara_Tonin00

Since the list is missing Busy Phillips...I'm out.

  • Voted for Sutton Foster, but I love most of these ladies.

  • John W

Where's Ashley Greene, Gillian Jacobs, Lena Headey, Emma Stone, ScarJo, Eliza Coupe, Aubrey Plaza, and Cobie Smulders?

  • Mel C.

Without K. Bell or Emma Stone, this list is null and void.

  • Artemis

Look, I get it. I think Amy is wonderful, and JLaw is delightful in every one of the millions of gifs of her that exist on the internet. Anna Kendrick was fun in Pitch Perfect and apparently tweets funny things. Mila Kunis' stock has dropped significantly for dating Kutcher, but I still like her. And all of the women on this list are really talented, funny people.

But you are still wrong. Tina Fey wins, at everything, always.

  • melissa82

I'm sorry, you may be right. I was torn: Tina, Amy or Jennifer. And I thought "Jennifer will continue winning these things for decades, she's young and hilarious and extremely talented. But Tina and Amy have been proving themselves for years already. And from that - how can I chose just one? So I thought about it for awhile and since Amy's just coming off a break up I really think this would mean more to her right now." You feel me?
PS: they'll know about this, right?

  • dizzylucy

My thought process was similar, though when it came down to Amy/Tina, I had to go Amy only because Tina has a closet full of Emmys and Amy hasn't won one yet, even though she has made me laugh (and cry) so much on Parks. And my vote totally equals winning an Emmy.

  • Artemis

I still think you chose wrong, but I understand your reasoning. I take back calling you (but only you) a heathen. The rest of you non-Tina-voters remain dead to me.

  • i voted jennifer lawrence even though my mind was screaming ZOOOOEY

  • $27019454

    Emma Stone!!

  • Javier

I was all set to vote for J.Law until the last one
I'm a sucker for all things Happy Endings!
oh, Penny Hartz you are magnificent!

fyi, my vote is for Penny not Casey Wilson but who cares..

  • Ash

I'm surprised Elisha Cuthbert didn't make the list. I have grown to LOVE Alex.

  • Very difficult. But I went with Mila Kunis. The tiebreaker for her over Alison Brie and Anna Kendrick was that she threw out some politics in I think it was an Esquire interview a while back. I'm a poli sci nerd. So that tips the scale for me.

  • mairimba

I want to be best friends with all of the ladies listed. Crush? Well, since Rachel Weisz is not here I'll go with Katie Asselton. Because of many reasons. Including: http://i.minus.com/iXx3AKjOOAo...

  • bleujayone

Where's the "None of the Above" vote option?

Oh, to be sure there are some fine choices in that list, but you've missed more than a few others and I dare say you'll probably never satisfy everyone with the list. And much like any award, it's unlikely you'll ever come up with a result that we'll agree on. I doubt many of our honest choices would have been nominated in the first place.

I object to calling for a vote on who the best crush simply because it's the most popular choice at the time. A crush often comes from an unexpected source, often has no obvious reasoning as to why and oddly enough has just as much chance to evaporate just as unexpectedly back into the ether as it does to linger indefinitely. Even in pop culture, it's all very individual and cannot be categorized by a popularity contest- which this is and a VERY biased one too. Given the ink many of the choices given have had of late, it would be far more accurate to call this the vote for the Pajiban Flavor of the Month.

So if it's all the same with you, I'll stick with my own preference and decline from hopping on the collective bandwagon. I'm sure there's plenty of fun to be have by all, but I find there's something slightly insincere about supporting something simply because the fickle herd says so today.

  • I'm just going to assume this was posted ironically.

  • badkittyuno

I love Sutton Foster and Kate Asleton (mostly her hair, I need her hair), but Anna Kendrick is my girl

  • I would give up the opportunity to hook up with Benedict Cumberbatch if I could hang out with Amy Poehler for a day.

Also, I am OFFENDED at Adele's omission.

  • HerGuyWednesday

Have we abandoned KBell? Whoever made this list should immediately watch Season 1 of Veronica Mars (with the Ellen Sloth Video slid in between every episode).

  • L.O.V.E.

    I approve this message.

  • jthomas666

I'm down to Tina, Amy, Alison, and Jennifer.

I can't choose just one, AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME, DAMN YOU!!!

  • Tinkerville

Ever since I started following her on twitter, Anna Kendrick has skyrocketed to number one. Homegirl's stolen my heart.

  • Ginger

"The Gorgeous Geek with Some Depth" - Crosses out Munn.

    Inserts: Felicia Day

  • toblerone

it is "Some Depth" after all and Felicia Day's depth of awesomeness is limitless.

  • Quatermain

I'm going for a write-in vote of 'Megan Fox' or possibly 'Kate Beckinsale.'

  • scary biscuits

    Kristen Bell?

  • mrsachmo

olivia munn at 3%? my libido is shocked.

  • Brian Merritt

    Where is THE DENCH???

  • Mohammed Al Qemzi

No Emma Stone or Lizzy Caplan? Harsh

  • GDI

Yes, these omissions are blasphemous at best.
Especially Caplan. You could easily remove Washington, Hathaway, Munn, or Dunham from the list and nothing of value would be lost.

As it stands, I would have to go 3 way split between JLaw, Kendrick, and Brie.
Fey and Poehler are classic, so there's no questioning their status. They probably shouldn't be on this list. The pedestal is far too high for them to be designated solely as a ”crush”.

  • Joe Grunenwald

Anna Kendrick. This was a HARD choice, but if it's Highlander, and there can be only one, then it's Anna Kendrick. If her Twitter feed is anything like she is in real life, then she is wonderful.

  • PDamian

So glad to see Kendrick on this list. She got my vote. I've been watching Pitch Perfect over and over since it became available for purchase. Rebel Wilson was also fantastic and should have been on this list.

  • Natallica

My heart belongs to my Khaleesi. I'm bound by oath.

  • Why is there not a march madness style bracket going on right now?! Let's duke it out and crown a victor in the spirit of the month.

  • You might need to get permission from the Fug Girls first. They have the market cornered on pop culture brackets on the internet.

  • Shoot, I'll even run it. I need something to do while I look for a job!

  • Quatermain

    Excellent idea.

  • eeeeee

    Rebel Wilson, bewilderedquestionmark?

  • Even Sophie didn't have it this hard.

  • Blake

"The Gorgeous Geek with Some Depth" - Olivia Munn

    Also no Emma Stone?

  • theotherone

Pajiba sure seems to be trying to make Munn "happen".

  • crispin

No need to. She was cool to begin with. Anyone who fights for truth and justice against the Troll of Ratnerdom is okay by me.

  • L.O.V.E.

I vote for Alison Brie. Shocking, I know.

  • Can't I establish a 10-day rotation or something?

  • fishster

I really like Mila Kunis too. Gosh...

  • Bodhi

Amy, FTW. JLaw is cute & all, but I just don't get the gush-fest over her

  • I think it's because not only is she stunningly beautiful but she also seems like she enjoys hot wings and appreciates a good fart joke.

  • Bodhi

Maybe its that I don't think she is stunningly beautiful. I think she is attractive for sure, but not a goddess. She does seem like a hell of a lot of fun, I get that part.

  • Brown

Yep. She doesn't do anything for me in the looks department. Not that she unattractive. She's just not attractive.

  • Quatermain

You say that like the possibility exists that there are people out there who would not enjoy hot wings and a good fart joke.

  • I'll enter Anne Hathaway and Zooey D (although I like her, too) as exhibits A and B in the anti-hot wing/fart joke crowd.

  • I don't know, Hathaway might surprise you. She could come with Natalie Portman, who strikes me as someone who would love hot wings and fart jokes.

  • Portman has been a pretty militant vegetarian/vegan most of her life, so she is not on the hot wing bandwagon.

  • I stand corrected. Amend my original statement to "...as long as she got herself some tofurkey hot wings."

  • fishster

Ahhhh ok I voted Jennifer Lawrence because I'm obsessed right now but Anna Kendrick was my definite number 2. She is HILARIOUS. Then I'd probably go Zooey Deschanel. This was soo hard.

  • Puddin

Fey. Always Fey. She's the Chanel suit of lady crushes. Well, actually Carol Burnett is the Chanel suit of lady crushes, but Tina Fey is definitely a pair of classic Gucci aviators.

Lena Dunham is a knock off LV bag you buy in an alley in Santa Monica.

  • Ted Zancha

Why did you have to put Tina, Amy, and Jennifer next to each other? Are you trying to kill me? Having to choose between them might make my head explode....

  • BAM

I love Anna Kendrick, but really? Over Fey, Lawrence, Poehler, Brie, or Kunis? REALLY??

  • Robert

I guess I'll go with Mila Kunis since Helen Mirren isn't an option.

  • giovanni

What? When did we abandon Emma Stone?!? The Overlords are fickle indeed.

  • mairimba

  • Blake

Yep, I'm sure they will be treating J-Law the same way in the near future.

  • chanohack

I can vote for just one because, while everything that Amy Poehler does makes me think, "Aw, Amy, I just love you. You are smart and funny and amazing. May happiness and success be with you always," almost everything that JLaw does makes me think, "OMG. AGAIN. REWATCH. MAKE FRIENDS WATCH. MAKE BOYFRIEND WATCH. PRETTTTTTTTTTTY!"

I am a woman possessed. I spend about 80% of my time talking about Jennifer, and the other 20% of the time, I am praying for someone else to bring her up so I can talk about her more. I can hear people getting bored with me, but I can't stop. It just keeps coming up like word vomit.

  • emmalita

This is how I am about my new boy crush, W. Kamau Bell. People are starting to avoid me.

  • MissAmynae

I'm stalking him at SXSW. I'm on a mission. (and I'm a photog for the fest, so I have an excuse! mwahahaha!)

and yes, I'll share pics if I get anything good :-)

  • emmalita

I am so jealous!!! I am actually from Austin and opted not to visit family during SXSW. Next year I'm going to have to do a better job of seeing who will be there. Have fun!

  • MissAmynae

Dude, I've lived here my entire life, and this is my first sxsw...ridiculous! Come down next year!! :-)

  • DeltaJuliet

    It's me with Daniel Craig.

  • ljridley

I would never avoid you! He is utterly obsessible (obsessable?)

  • emmalita

    Yay! I'm not alone!

  • chanohack

(Obviously, I also love Tina Fey and quote her often.)

  • TSF

    Lizzy Caplin.

  • NateMan

I refuse to vote until the contest is decided in the proper way: in a 15-women naked Jello fight, in which I get to be referee.

Hey, I love these women for their personalities. That doesn't mean I can't lust them for their bodies too.

  • Fine, you can ref. I get to be the Jell-O.

  • toblerone

ANNA KENDRICK! But Brie Larson and Gillian Jacobs would have be my top two choices!

    Also WTF? NO Eliza Coupe?
