I'm Addicted To Art Timelapses On YouTube And You Should Be Too

One of my pastimes is becoming obsessed with different things, mainlining that thing, and then growing tired of that thing. Repeat. Sure, I still watch acne removal videos, but I’ve seen most of them already. Painting restoration? They’re great but I’m specific about what I’ll watch, preventing a real binge. Dropping in to fill my time are some channels manned by artists presenting their work in timelapse videos, which are perfect for my attention span.

Whether it’s painting, drawing, sculpting, or a little bit of all three, I’ve become increasingly fond of the work being done on these YouTube channels.

First up is Lorecraft, who has a striking resemblance to a beefier John Krasinski. He sculpts and casts mostly horror movie busts, painting them and adding light-up eyes on occasion.

Next is Steven Richter and his ridiculously fantastic sculptures. He skews more Marvel with other pop culture icons thrown into the mix.

Artology is pencil and some paint on drawing medium, with characters from Marvel, DC, Pixar, and celebrities in general.

drawholic is another artist using pencils and paper to create almost photographic quality images of pop culture figures.

Enjoy your moments of zen with these channels.
