You might remember Phi Phi O’Hara as the pageant queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race who infamously laid into spooky Sharon Needles with “Go back to Party City, where you belong!”
Well, O’Hara may have lost the crown to Needles, but it seems this showgirl is taking a tip or two from her kooky rival with a series of drag looks that are nostalgic bordering on nightmarish.
O’Hara has challenged herself to present a new drag look every day, #365DaysOfDrag. And within this Instagram explosion, she’s also sharing her early inspirations, cosplaying as a range of cartoon characters for better or WTF.
She positively nailed Daria and Jane.
We are living for her X-Men Jubilee.
Here she’s bringing the drama with a Doug tribute.
Going the Muppet way with a Eureka’s Castle cosplay.
[ 41/365 ] #365DaysOfDrag "90S CARTOONS!" NEXT UP…..#EUREEKA #EureekasCastle … I could be wrong but if you are outside of America you might not know this one. I grew up watching Eureeka's Castle and wanted to be a wizard just like her. This was one of my most favorite shows on Nickelodeon growing up.
Her Him is on point.
Her Helga feels haute couture.
And this Aaahh! Real Monsters inspiration is all kinds of fierce.
But things turned weird when she turned to Rugrats.
And you can’t unsee this Tiny Toon Adventures terror.
[ 42/365 ] #365DaysOfDrag "90S CARTOONS!" NEXT UP…..#DOT! #Animaniacs I used one of the prosthetic noses I made, and for the eyes, they are open, I simply put in my black sclera lenses and used Kryolan Aquacolor to draw the ovals around my eyes. I cut an old wig and sprayed it to keep its shape and pulled the wig over my ears since DOT doesn't have ears like humans.
O’Hara’s looking to do a round 2. Tell us in comments which ’90s cartoon characters you hope she takes on, and which you pray she’ll overlook.
THE 90s SERIES! So much fun doing these and so happy with the love and appreciation for them! I will do a part 2 of the 90s in the future for all the characters I missed. WHICH ONE IS YOUR FAVORITE?! Next week will be back to fun, creative looks, there will be more cosplay drag in the future! Never forget there is NO LIMIT to what you can do and THERE ARE NO RULES in doing drag and creating art!
